start off slowly. burning yourself never does any good.

Don't get frusterated.

and most importantly

Make sure this is a lifestyle change, for serious, don't just plan on doing this for a week or 2 months or 3 or 4 till you're "buff".

Kanye West has a good workout track on his CD "College Dropout" - Track 11 I believe. "Kanye's Get Right for the Summer Workout tape"

I havent worked out in ages. But I am far from fat tho, lol. Exercising more is something I would like to start doing this summer. I wanna be buff like Yarr too.

Things to remember when working out.

It takes 21 days to form a habit.

Start out slow and light and carfully add more weight.

Things shouldnt hurt while you work out

Things should hurt the next day.

Keep your head down while in the mens change room, there are horrors here that could send anyone running from the gym.

Most important rule to working out. Change your diet. Keep in mind that the best way to improve muscle tone and lose weight is the change your diet to accompany your new active life style.

Ive been working out almost four solid months. Im talking 6 days a week. Three days doing intense muscle groups (legs, back\chest and arms\shoulders) and cardio and a light work out on the other three days. I eat only food that is healthy and I tend to eat a lot of it now. I havent had anything that could be considered a "treat" since I signed up. Thats the biggest and most important part. Mind you, I was trying to bring down my body fat percentage.

Trust me, lifting weights is only a small part of changing the way you look and feel. Eating is just as (if not more) important.

anyway, if you have any questions just post em and Ill see if I can give any tipps. Im far from any kind of pro, I just work out like 12 hours a week haha.

What kind of training are you doing? if its anything with using your legs, lift about 100 lbs once your strong enough for that, and leave your legs in one position with the weights in the air for about 1 minute, do this rapidly, you'll feel the burn.

For anyone who is overweight here....

Here's a good plan for losing pounds...

Work sunday, monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday for 30 minutes on a weight bearing machine. And when you want to eat something bad, remember, you'll feel like 100 million times better if you DONT eat it.

don't deprive yourself of some of life's guilty pleasures however :P

works for me to keep the pounds off...I naturally just love to keep weight on me (runs on my moms side of the family)

Yeah im really serious about this. Im trying to change my diet. Yarr can you post good food to eat. Tonight for dinner i had a can of tuna, crackers, a pickle and and apple lol. My friend told me to eat tuna for protein and i just kinda grabbed stuff that went with it and didnt seem too bad. Today was rough though i did like a full body workout almost and im about to die i think. Im so freaking exausted. Granted i havent done any real physical activity in about 2 years. Also Devrim im doing the whole thing, my friend is kinda my personal trainer i guess. Hes making me do everything lol. Its cool though i understand why yarr likes working out. It is really motivating. Grr im gonna hurt like hell tomorrow.

don't worry about that food aspect. it'll never last. Eat normal casserole or whatever your family has and eat that if you want to stay away from fast food for the night.

if you're bulking on the other hand...well go to http://www.bodybuilding.com and go to their forums for advice on diet. But if you just started you needent be worrying about that just yet

I dont eat the best foods. I really eat just cold cut sandwiches for lunch. Normal dinner meals for dinner (nothing special). I just eat alot of fruit. Bananas, oranges, apples, stuff like that.

Its not that I have some special diet. I just dont eat junk anymore. I just only eat the stuff thats more natural.

My diet could use some work, but im doing strength and energy building. Im not really looking to bulk up. Im just looking to be healthy and look it.

Trust me, I get as many people coming to me to talk about working out and what to do irl as i do in game.

Its nice to see that my work in the gym is paying off in the form of getting other people out and more active too.

Drink water, milk, protein drinks, and seltzers a good suplement for water, and if you're thirsty its like an orgy in the mouth.

Drink Diet Pop. I do--I really like to taste and it doesn't make your teeth all gritty like regular pop does (if someone gives you flak about it just say that)

Sure it harms your brain now, but they're replacing the aspartame sweetner with splenda soon

didn't say you were fat :P

Eat the donut. It's fine. You can't go your life without eating things like that once in a while.
As cookie monster now says:

"Ummm Donut is SOMETIMES food!"

Sheesh okay ONE more peice of advice:

When you start something up your body will want to HOLD and maybe GAIN pounds. This will pass in a few days to a week and you'll start losing. Don't get discouraged if you gain.

Also...water weighs something. And of course you know as you build muscle your weight will go up (it'll probably go down as any excess fat turns to muscle)

yeah well i dont drink anything but watter. I have the occational glass of orange juice (like 2 since january) but nothing really, just water.

You wouldnt believe how much sugar and calories are in water. Yes, sure they have a good source of other nutrition, but still, you can get the same if nor more if you eat the actual fruit. I can go through alot of fruit in a day.

What I concentrate on is what I DONT eat, more than I concentrate on what I do eat.

I work for the head office of Canadas biggest Donut\coffee franchise. This Company (tim hortons) is big, we bring in bigger numbers that McDonalds canada.

So the lunch room has a limitless supply of what ever donuts or junk i could ever want for pennies. I made my first goal to cut out the few cookies and donuts per day I would have. I now drink nothing but water too. I love water though. I actually have an impressive water % for my body. My trainer said thats an important thing to have (no idea why myself).

Like I said, Im just a newbie at all this stuff. I just make sure to watch what I eat and I work out as much as I can. The results have been really outstanding.

Im sure ill run into princess one day and she can come here and tell everyone if there is a difference in me or not.
