I have come from a country that has 4% of the worlds population and uses 25% of the worlds energy.

Democracy is dying here, and it's slow but sure. But my opinion won't matter, since I'll be drafted and killed in some ass country in a few years anyway.

If you think the war in iraq is meaningless go talk to some of the iraqi people. They love what is happening there. Ive had 5 friends go to Iraq and they alll said that the people there love us and offer them meals and all sorts of other stuff just so they can thank them for what they are doing. Saddam is an evil man and needed to be taken down. Anyone that says otherwise is very very uniformed. Do you have any idea of the things that man did to his people?

EDIT: Oh and have yall ever been out of the country? I have Ive spent 2 of the last 5 years out of the US. Ive been all over asia and 1 country in the middle east and I have NEVER met anyy america haters. I have found more america bashing in California then in Bahrain(small country off the coast of Saudi Arabia). So before you say the whole world hates us look around.

In all honesty Unick you went out and saw some people in diff countries but did you meet with those countries leaders? They are the people that arnt looking too fondly at us. Those are the people that can say to their country "Hey America is doing this and this and this" and turn them around. Leaders of other countries are looking at us now as power hungry retards after a huge piece of cake.

We helped him fight the Russians way back in the day but what did we do to make him hate us so much now? Noone really talks about that much and I honest would like to know whats going through his head.

Your response really doesn't surprise me. Most people who have convinced themselves of their own moral and intellectual superiority on issues can't be swayed by simple things such as scientifically proven facts, or simple common logic.

Ya, that's one of the few clips I've actually downloaded from these forums. Just about everything he said was true, America right now is in a very scary place politically and socially. 9/11 has radicalized most of the American voters to lean towards the extreme right, while Fox News has them convinced they're in the middle of the political spectrum. We have a president who is in the pocket of oil companies, and the longer he stays in office, the longer we'll have these meaningless wars. He's just making more and more enemies for the United States. As it is now, the entire world will probably turn on us sometime. My biggest concern is when it happens. If Bush is still in office when it does, it means he will probably end up staying a third to a possible indefinete term. We push for democracy around the world, yet if you're not on the political right, you're one of them INSANE liberals who HATES AMERICA, as Fox News would like the American average man to believe. Democracy is dying here, and it's slow but sure. But my opinion won't matter, since I'll be drafted and killed in some ass country in a few years anyway.

Saddam was a bad guy, no doubt about it. But what's the reason they're so happy to eat now? Hm? For the past 10 years or so the United States/U.N. have placed so many blocks on trade/medicines and other such commodities needed for life. As it is now, malnutrition rates among children in Iraq are higher than they were before the war in Iraq. They've nearly doubled. I'm not bashing the U.S., I'm worried about the direction we're headed. And as far as research goes, I've gone to many different lectures, websites, newspapers. I just happened to post one from an anti-war site to perhaps broaden your view just a bit. It's a fact that DUs used in the Gulf Wars have seriously messed up many that were in the area. Your quote concering Yuogslavia really is out of context. There have been cases of babies being born without eyes, extra limbs, etc. etc. Sure they could have been doctored to lure sympathy towards the Iraqi people afflicted, but, there hasn't been enough attention brought to the matter. DU in testing has performed differently than actual combat, not to mention many countries in the UN do use it, and it's a way to get rid of chemical waste that's been sitting in containment. So, whatever. I've lost interest in this discussion anyway. Take what you want from this, I don't feel like talking to a wall. Haha.

As an international studies major, I KNOW how bad america looks right now, and how much everyone hates us. And I wouldn’t want to be around when the great american empire collapses. I hate to breakup this conjecture festival with a bit of logic, but unfortunately contrary to whatever cutsey little site you've read, Depleted Uranium is not a "Nuclear weapon", any more than having a colonscopy is a doctor shoving a nuclear weapon up your ass. A nuclear weapon is characterized by a fission or fusion reaction. I assure you, if either was happening, the possible side effects of DU shells like cancer would be the least of your concerns if you were within the energy release radius. Depleted Uranium is simply a radioactive material, and is used because of it's extremely dense nature, not because it radiates (which incidentally if you care it has a negligible gamma component when compared to cosmic radiation). To be honest, about the only way you could get radiation exposure from DU is to inhale the dust from an immediate nearby explosion (IE: it didn't land on your head, but instead blew up the 5 guys next to you), or by walking around holding an unfired and unsealed penetrator rod (Read: idiot). I would however find it incredibly amusing if you turned your friend into the FBI for giving you a glow-in-the-dark watch. After all, according to the DU "Nuclear weapons" theory, he is trafficking in nuclear weapons. Get rid of your smoke detector too, as it too contains a nuclear weapon! P.S. Canada, Iceland, Norway, and many of the Gulf States and Caribbean islands uses more Energy per capita than the United States, they simply have less people, so be sure to hate on them some too.
