I know theres a handfull of other people from TX here, and this is relatively a large convention, so maybe some of you from out of state might plan on going too...

ew yuck. I went to akon 2years ago (or maybe 3), and it was the worse experience of my life.
it was so crowded and everyone was an asshole.
really it was so horrible.
it made me HATE anime fans.
sci-fi fans are so much nicer.
like at a scifi con, I never would of ended up sleeping outside in my car, in the 90+ degree heat.
at a scifi con, no one of expected you to pay $25 a night (per person) for sleeping on the freaking FLOOR! with 16 other people.
and at a scifi con, when a jackass pulls a fire alarm- they don't kick out the WHOLE hotel and make the room-less sleep outside -.-

oh and fat cosplayers maked me wish that I didn't have eyes.

so yeah, screw anime conventions

Ah the joys of conventions. Yea, no ... not really. I got dragged to Acen this year via. my girlfriend. She's huge into anime, and i'm partial to it.

It's a lot of standing around, and a lot of walking. At least with Great America there's a rollercoaster to hop on after you walk for half a mile.

All in all it was pretty okay. She got to see pillows, that was pretty cool, cept for the mash pit INTO the concert hall. Yea lines, what's that? I saw some good AMVs...multiple times, and well the gaming sucked, it was mostly DDR and um, well a lot of DDR.

Luckly, I didn't run into any asses like Mintsy did with her experience; however, we did run into a rather unorganized staff which moved the initial line for the pillows concert about 5 times then said that this wasn't the line.

Well, I'm back!

I havn't found any pictures of me, but the second I do, I will post them up.

There were some FFXI cosplayers...I saw BLM and WHM AF2 Humes, some generic Mithras in various other armor sets...a DRG AF Mithra...plenty of cool things...alot of them were decent cosplays too (No fat mithras! Thank god!)

For those who went, hope you had fun! I'll get pics up asap.

Yeah your Shikamaru is pretty damn good. the Choji and ... Um... whatever that guy with the dog's name is also look halfway decent.

The narutos and Neijis and espexially the creepy white guy standing behind the narutos all need to train some more.

It could just be that anybody wearign bright orange or playing a male character yet having boobies looks silly ( unless they're hot).

Thanks Vurin...and I guess that Chouji was in the middle of Baikan No Jutsu, heh.

I want to find some pictures from later in the con (These were taken Saturday morning) Because I had bought an official Bandai Chuunin vest, so it gave a little more accuracy to my costume than my home made one.


I also had an orignal costume at the con that my friends and I started calling "Bondage Ninja". I havn't found any pics of it yet though...I'll post more pics as good ones come up.

I saw a few cosplayers in FFXI gear too. There were at least two in THF AF, and they did an excellent job on it. I'm so going as my THF next year, well...kinda, I can't change into a female. :roll: I'll just have to pretend I'm Hume for a day. :P

Yup! I saw them, I also saw a RDM AF cosplayer, a BLM AF2, and a WHM AF2 and all were fairly well done.

There was a mithra in DRG AF but it looked a little shabby...and plenty of mithras in RSE and starting gear...
