So. I recently got 1024 ram, and it fried, or so I think, because my computer kept restarting by itself whenever I played a game. So I took out that ram and kept my 256 in, now it keeps freezing, restarting by itself, basically shitting out. And oh yeah, I get the blue screen of death sometimes too. I reformatted, it didn't fix it. It's not a virus, I have NO idea what's going on. I think my best bet is saving up $400 and getting a 512 ram, 160 gig compaq. Any ideas of what the hell is going on inside my computer? |

What's the make/model of your current computer? If its Dell, Compaq, or anything besides a custom built machine it might only take propritery RAM from the company that made it. Need more information. It could even be that the motherboard might not support the memory you got. Could be alot a things :p (And don't get a compaq, and Dells are getting worse for some reason, go find a local nerdy computer shop and get a custom machine built). |

try to send the ram back for new sticks..... ive gotten a faulty stick before which would reset the game and do blue screens on random. Would sometimes play for 10 secs and it happens, some times for like 30 mins and it finally would. There are programs out there u can download which will check your ram to see if its good or if it has bad parts on it. Should look into it. I havnt messed with computers or built one in a few years so im rusty and cant find u a link sorry =/ |
