I give birth in my death
Some study me from far away
But they can't get any closer
Some dedicate their lives to me
I am a mystery
To even those who know every essence of me
They know every move I make
All of my personal patterns
You think you know everything about me
But you don't and never can.

~~ What am I? ~~

it's a star... black holes don't "give birth in my death"

technically black holes never die, but just evaporate

Post subject:

Yep ^^ Star~ causes nova after death symbolizing the birth

ok...this one I can't answer, been to long since I took the physics courses...and from what I recall no one has been able to study how a black hole acts.

The answer is a star, but supernova stars do not comprise the material that make up new stars, so the riddle actually sucks.

the nova is more like the final hour than the actual death itself, but i guess you could say it gives birth to beauty, if only "briefly" astronomically speaking.

in addition to that, it does sluff off a huge amount of hydrogen and even heavy elements in its death, which can then proceed to form a new solar system. so it does give birth in its death, though not immediately.

so the riddle actually sucks.

The riddle doesn't suck, Ath. Don't let such comments discourage you. Although it was admittedly easy, it was also enjoyable to read. I have a 2-year degree in astrophysics, and while I have done mostly prep-work, I really love astronomy (and philosophies in atheism btw). There is a beauty in space and time that is boundless but can easily be forgotten in the hustle and bustle of mindless todays.

Whisp, tottally agree.. you sound like a very educated man.. one of which I hope to become one day.. starting college this fall. I love atheistic philosophies as well, there are some boards that talk about such things, that I haunt, http://www.atheistnetworks.com, I believe..

Yeah, let's keep this riddle forum rolling, I love riddles ^^

Btw, Steven Hawking did lots of research on Black Holes, and discovered tons, so yes there is much that has been found out about on Black Holes.
