Silent Hill Movie
The movie is based on Konami's popular Horror Survival game "Silent Hill". The strory is written by Roger Avary ("Killing Zoe"), and will be directed by Christophe Gans ("Brotherhood of the Wolf").

A woman desperate to save her dying child finds herself trapped in an alternate reality as she searches for her daughter in a dangerous world of demons.

Rose cannot accept the knowledge that her daughter Sharon is dying of a fatal disease. Over the protests of her husband, she flees with her child, intending to take the girl to a faith healer. On the way, she ends up driving through a portal in reality, which takes her to the eerie and deserted town of Silent Hill.

Sharon disappears in Silent Hill, and Rose follows what she thinks is her daughter's silhouette all over town. It's soon clear the town is not like any place she?s ever been. It's inhabited by a variety of creatures and a living darkness that descends and literally transforms everything it touches. The human inhabitants - the ones who are left are trapped and fighting a losing battle against the Darkness.

Joined by a cop named Cybil, who has been sent to bring her and Sharon back, Rose searches for her little girl while learning the history of Silent Hill and that Sharon is just a pawn in a larger game.

To save her daughter, Sharon makes a deal with a demon in the form of a little girl.....

Oh sweet jesus they've made a movie out of Silent Hill, and its not directed by Paul W.S. Anderson or anything! Even if it might be lame, which movie adaptations usually are, the teaser keeps the grainy elements, the similar music, setting, and you can even catch a glimpse of Pyramid Head in the teaser, mwhaha. Its directed by Christopher Gans and written by people with some actual experience under their belt. Paul Anderson is the worst. For some reason hollywood thinks he makes the best Game to Movie films. I swear to god, I wish I could just will people dead with my mind.

For those not familiar with Anderson's 'work,' he's the man responsible for Alien Vs. Predator, Resident Evil, and Mortal Kombat movies. If that wasn't enough he's even going to direct a Castlevania movie for a 2007 release. bleh.

If they screw this up, I will cry. They're taking the best aspects of SH1 and SH2 (Pyramid Head ftw), and if they miraculously screw it up with that kind of material (SH series are movies themselves, just put some real-life actors and voila), then all hope is lost =P
