Ok, 1st block at school is Computer Applications. Everybody in my class is fucking stupid, and I've worked so far ahead, the teacher doesn't know what to do with me, so he let's me do whatever I want all day; which is pretty much troll on CKD. Anywho, every computer has this program called "Deep Freeze" which deletes any new modifications to the PC when you log off, but Deep Freeze on my pc is broke. And it's the only one. So I figured, I could probably bring in my installation CDs, sneak the installation, and sit through the 3hr update + 1hr ToAU update. Four hrs, 1.5hr classes, 3 days. If I get cought, he probably wouldn't care, and if he saw the game when it was finally done, I could just say I'm playing it off some website. Also, could I burn the .dat's and shit to a CD and just copy those over to the harddrive on this pc? That would be like 20x faster. |

Umm if its a school they probably have the ports blocked so you cant play. Most schools lock down all ports except like 22, 80, 8080 and other common ports. |

lol I loved screwing with people that did this kinda stuff back in High School. I was part one of the Student Technicians at my High School, so I'd have to go around cleaning up computers and junk. Needless to say, you find students doing alot of weird things with school computers. Hope you don't get caught, I think the most they can do is either take away your computer privelages, and or delete the program from the computer. Yarr's probably right about the port blockers, they'll find some unusual activity sooner or later though (If they're good about security and junk like that). |

Damn, and here I was really excited this might work. I'm still going to try though. It would be so awesome to play at school. |

You could bring an external hard drive big enough to fit FFXI and everything on it to school, and then just plug it in and open up FFXI. |

we have computer labs at my school and also each student is issued a laptop. Yeah i know seems cool, it was a few years ago, but now you cant do shit. Anyway last year my friend would bring his own laptop to school that had FFXI on it. We only had 30 mins to try and get it going during lunch in the computer lab, anyway he did get it going and played some during school, just had pretty bad lag, if your outside of a busy place you prob can play it. |

Or can burn a few discs and save the trouble of being cought with an external. I don't want to make this obvious, and an external is something you can't hide in cargo pants... plus, I have a shitload of CDR's lying around that I could get rid of. Does anyone know if it would actually work if I just put all the ffxi info on a disc, took it to school, and put it on the HD there? I'd like to try, but if it doesn't work, that's a valuable 30mins~ it would take for the files to transfer over that I could be using to get a head start on the 4hr update. Btw thanks for boosting my confidence in this led, lol. |

Don't have one, nor do I really plan to get one. Plus, I doubt the teacher would let me use it anyways. |

You're such a goddamn nerd. Enjoy school as a time away from this game that obviously consumes your soul. |

School is more of a waste to your life than FFXI is. At least in FFXI you learn something productive, like typing. Only bullshit things you learn in school are about Shakespere (Who cares about this guy?) B(Squared)-4AC - forget which formula it is, who cares though, I'll never use it in RL. Not to mention History. I could take about how useless this one is for hours. In the end; I'd rather play FFXI than sit in computer lab doing nothing for 1.5hrs when I already know a shitload about computers. |

FFXI teaches you life skillz (did a speech on this in school actually :P) Teaches you to manage money, social skills, and how to find info. Also typing, but I picked that up playing Diablo I and II and StarCraft. FFXI also teachers you that learning how to make stuff using skills is a good way to take people for what they're worth :P |

Did you actually just say FFXI teaches you social skills? Oh man...you made a speech in school about FFXI...I really am sorry. That must've gone well. The nerdy kid in the back with same pants on for 3 weeks straight is going to tell us that FFXI teaches people social skills, and then the lunch bell rings and he runs into the computer lab to camp leaping lizzy. There are so many wrong things with the posts in this thread...just don't play this game at school... |

Final FANTASY 11 doesn't teach ANYTHING about life. Seriously, I think you're lacking real social contact if you think you can learn anything about social life in a goddamn VIDEO GAME. Also, I care about Shakespeare. Learning about Shakespeare is a hell of a lot more worthwhile than playing a video game that will have no bearing EVER on anything that matters. |

It wasn't FFXI, it was games in general. It does other stuff too, but I'm not gonna go into that right now 'cause its late. And if you only have one pair of pants poncho, I'm sure you can find some at the Salvation Army. |

I could write an essay on "Why school is important for nerds" but to sum it up, it's so you can attract girls with your brain! nothing is hotter than a guy that knows history, except maybe a scientist. course algebra is pointless... unless you get good enough at it that you can run study sessions! anyway. mmoers need all the help they can get, so study hard! I believe in you! |

Algerbra isn't that hard, but a lot of people bitch about it. History isn't that hard either, but we get taught the same thing over and over and it gets boring. Daedalan is taking it to the extreeme, because I'm sure everyone roll plays outside of a game. And, I'm going to get in trouble, but girls like guys who are black, act black, or are stupid, or a combination of the three. |

You should get the facts straight before you make assumptions about my life. Honestly, tell me who has a life at the age of 15? Damn near nobody. Know why I don't have a life? Last year every single friend I had moved away for various reasons. When you have nobody to talk to in school, nobody you like, nobody you want to even be remotely close to, what're you gonna do? Make new friends? There's 3 types of people at my school, the Emo Fags, Preps, and Jocks. I'm not any of those, and don't fit in. And don't tell me you didn't play ffxi 24/7 when you got it, lol. Everybody did. If you've/you're played/playing ffxi, you've basically signed a contract signing away your life. Oh btw, I look at myself in the mirror everyday. I think I look pretty good, so do a few girls at school, but I hate them, so not like it matters. Anyways, thanks for derailing my thread, lol. I'm trying this today, so I'll let you know how my life goes since you're so worried about me having one or not. Oh yeah, and Mintsy; first semester when I had Physical Science, I passed it with an A. I'm not stupid in school. Edit: Forgot my discs on my computer desk. Let you guys who are obsessed with my life know if I get it installed tomorrow. |
