well after hearin the whole album i would have to give it a 4/5. Its kinda classic tool and maybe a little light imo. Lateralus was alot better... Now to get my hands on that Thursday cd

just picked up the new tool. I'm digging it, but I can tell that it's gonna take a few listens before I really start getting it. The CD case has "stereoscopic" lenses built right into the case for a trippy perspective lol.

I love the album. It's not the full complete one kick ass song after the other like Aenima was but it's still really good.

unfortunately the CD I bought from best buy has a big scratch in it that makes "The Pot" un-listenable. Grrrr got to exchange it tomorrow.

Honestly tool has a cool style and all, but really it seems like a) it's very limited to that style and b) the songs feel like they lack musical direction.

Honestly, I'd probably listen to tool if Porcupine Tree wasn't just a far better version of them. PT=melodic Tool. Killer.

I like tool and i don't smoke pot =P, if you wanna hear melodic tool, listen to A Perfect Circle, same frontman. i think one of the guitarists is in there too.

No, it's their guitar tech. Even I knew that ;p

My brother has listened to his fair share of tool over the years.

The one song I really did is "Parabola".

That's pretty cool. It's got a really driving guitar lead at the beginning and a super catchy chorus. "This body-this body holding me...".

Has anyone heard of Porcupine Tree? If you haven't and like tool, send me a PM or post in this thread and I'll send you a song. You'll like it, trust me.

edit: Listening to 10,000 days. Took like 2 minutes to DL. It was at 500kb/s.

I don't know. It sounds all the same to me. I'm almost done with "Jambi".

I've listened to every song like 5 times now, and it's starting to click. It's hard to pick fav track because I'm liking them all (besides the 2-3 filler tracks of just weird noise), but if pressed I'd have to say I like "10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2)" the best right now. I'm sure that will change.

Tool doesn't need any money. They make more money from merchandising than album sales, I hear. Also, all of their hempy fans accidently leave their CDs under the freeway and have to buy two copies.
