Post subject: | Spider-Man's Black Costume Returns |
![]() ![]() During Civil War (the biggest Marvel Comics event in recent years) Spider-Man wears a new costume (pictured to the right) and usually they just give heroes new costumes to put them back in the original one. Well those of us following the events know something big is going to happen to Spider-Man. Whether that's killing off Mary Jane (again) or killing Aunt May (again) we don't know. But what we do know is that Spider-Man after the events coming up soon, will return to wearing his black costume first seen after the first Secret War and not his classic costume. But wearing the black costume again brings up the point of it's actually the original symbiote (Venom) or if it's just a similar costume that happens to be black. All of this coincides with the release of Spider-Man 3. Can read the interview about the costume here: http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/ ... gi?id=8341 |

DC is still kinda reeling from the failure of their last big event Infinite Crisis, making mini-series for every D to B list character they have and seriously fucking up the Justice Leauge.. they have maybe four books that I'm even interested in. And their Vertigo line may be in trouble too, since the best book in its line-up, Y: The Last Man, is coming to close very shortly. Marvel on the other hand, while having massive delays on all their books (Civil War issue 4 was supposed to come out a month ago, and almost EVERY book they make is linked to it, so every book got pushed) still manages to create interest in characters that haven't been popular or in books in years. People are actually worried about Hercules. Toga dressin', sandal wearin' Hercules. That's pretty damn good. I've always been more of an X-Men guy.. but lately the X-Men suck so bad (with Astonishing X-Men being the exception) and The (New) Avengers/Spider-Man being so good, I've become a much bigger fan of the general Marvel Universe rather than limited to strictly the X-Books. I own every comic I have digitally, but it's such a pain in the ass to store them and keep reading them. Plus it's alot easier to send these to people than to let people borrow individual series too. |

I just picked up the new Justice Leauge of America book (oct 06) and its pretty good. Im interested to see how they are going to rebuild everything. Its nice to see the big three (Batman, Superman, WonderWoman) rebuilding it from scratch atleast. I havent had a chance to read it yet though. I wonder how they are going to handle the induction of Bart as The Flash, considering it was Batman who called Bart "Impulse" and from what I have read, it wasnt a "nice" name to give him. |

The Justice League is really terrible at the moment. If you're talking about Justice League Issue 0, then I'll agree. But Issue 1 was terrible. The Red Tornado? Arsenal? What the fuck. Stop putting these lame ass characters in the JLA just to mix it up. The core seven have always been the way to go. But since they fucked them up so bad in Infinite, they're going this route. I've never read a big event so bad. lol |

I have issue 1 and im half way thought it. The Red Tornado isnt so bad, hes just a b list character. I think if they gave him enough time in the sun he could be alright. I do agree though, they really messed up a lot of characters in IF. Its going to be almost impossible to get things back to "normal" I still dont like Bart Allen. Wally West for life bitches. |

Alex Ross has such a unique art style. Its kind of cool to see a "real" looking comic book. |

Just download them haha. I personally find it hilarious that I can get torrents for books and comics now haha. That seemed like the one thing i'd have to buy. Then again I can't find a decent program to read them so it kind of sucks (any suggestions?). And I still buy books because they're too hard to read on a screen (especially my vast collection of erotic novels. the nipples nearly jump out of the page!) |

There's like 5-6 titles a month I like actually owning. I've been collecting comics since I was really young. I download the DCP weekly, and rare collections usually. I have the entire run of Thor someplace. I think that's brilliant, having like 60 years of comics in 5 gigs. Haha. |

I never did either. Once you get into Civil War, you really do choose a side to go with. Even though there's like no characters I like on the anti-Reg side, I chose to support them, and I'm getting more and more into each character involved in it. I fucking hate Iron Man now. lol That god damn punch. Oh, and Yarr, Captain America is going to be on Omega Flight with Beta Ray Bill. Haha. |
