So I was reading Cnn and came across this article. http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/space/09/2 ... index.html Im freaking amazed by these little robots. They were designed to run for 90 days and have managed to stay alive for 3 years! Its pretty god damn impressive. Its also very very cool. The idea that these little robots are actually sitting on Mars driving around and looking at stuff and sending back information to earth. I realize they are remote controlled, but still, its cool in my books. It makes me think about what might be going in years from now. What kind of robots will we have setup? Will we have robot weather ballons on Jupiter? Self controlled robots on Pluto? |

no lol thats just a teaser they made. Just like the Spiderman 1 teaser was Spider-man chasing a helicopter through NYC and eventually catching it in a web between the twin towers. The movie had nothing to do with that. |

I was pretty sure the teaser was just made to hype the movie but the teaser was taken off air because of the NYC incident. |

It was going to be in that whole mess of things he first did in the begining when spiderman was still a mystery to people in ny. Remember that scene? THe one when people are doing news reports about him, because nobody has really taken a good look at him. And rumors are spreading that hes a monster with 8 arms and stuff lol |

I saw "Roving Mars" at the IMAX earlier this year. That movie was very cool. It was amazing to see everything involved with getting the rovers to Mars. I think it's cool they are still kicking 3 years later. Big success. |

I never said Pluto was a planet ;p regardless its still going to be a big part of the exploration of our solar sytem. The whole Kuiper belt system and once we start developing engins that can travel fast enough, thats going to be a huge part of exploration. Most scientist believe that there are other rocky bodies out there hidden from our view that could be as big if not bigger than pluto. I cant wait 9 years for that satalite to finally reach pluto. I want to see i resolution mapping of pluto now. |

This made me laugh so hard. Haha. I think the Transformers movie would be alot better if they just showed stock footage of Mars and rovers roaming aimlessly. |

Apparently they think that they actually seceeded because they've all got Confederate flags and decals all over their cars. |

Apparently they think that they actually seceeded because they've all got Confederate flags and decals all over their cars. I actually know some so-called "Confederates", and I think they are dumb enough to not know when I am making fun of them to their face. They are mostly just rednecks, hard to avoid them in Jacksonville sadly. They don't think the Confederacy was successful, just paying tribute to the past and their "heritage". Man I wish I had a camera in this one bar I went into in Munich, Germany.... they had Confederate Flags, Nazi memoribillia, etc... the lady at the bar looked at me and my brother weird when we walked in too lol. I think you meant Aerospace achievments? Aeronautical lmao. Air/water achievements. Well I just assumed you were being sarcastic with that anyway. |

Uhh, no I meant Aeronautics. NASA: National Aeronautics Space Administration I'm actually probably wrong. I just always called it Aeronautics. OH WELL edit2: No Im right :P "Aeronautics is the science involved with the study, design, and manufacture of flight capable machines" |

I already knew what NASA stood for, but that doesn't explain the nautical part when its called the Aerospace industry and Aerospace engineering everywhere else. I wonder if they use Aeronautical to describe space travel and navigation in England, or if its just another American way of butchering the English language. nau·ti·cal Of, relating to, or characteristic of ships, shipping, sailors, or navigation on a body of water I may seem weird for saying NASA is wrong for using the term aeronautical to describe their Aerospace program, but it has nothing to do with sails, ships, sailors, or navigating water. |

My last job I used to build shit for Lockheed Martin and NASA. Aeronautics are indeed almost anything that has to do with flight capable machines. |

Ok then I am wrong. Just doesn't seem right to use nautics as a suffix when you are describing shit that doesn't even launch off of water or navigate water. |
