Mr. James Fudge wrote:
Shanda Games and Square Enix team up to bring the Windows PC version of Final Fantasy XIV to mainland China.
Under the terms of this new strategic partnership, Shanda Games is in charge of maintaining and operating the MMO in the region. Shanda said in its announcement that Final Fantasy XIV servers for mainland China are to be separate from servers for other regions such as Japan, North America and Europe. Square Enix is handling those servers directly.
The launch date for China is "to be determined." Final Fantasy XIV for Windows PC launches in Japan, Europe, and North America September 30. The PS3 version of the game launches March 2011. Final Fantasy XIV is the first Square Enix MMO deployed in China.
