I favorites about this game is when I tried to get in CKD all of the ppl in that group goes "Awww man not another PLD!" then I was rejected and asked to level other better jobs. I laughed at that this one, That I will never forget!

I never app'd to CKD, no idea if I would have gotten in or not. Several of the CKD members that were in Mordana told me to app, so, maybe I had a chance.

Thing back then was that CKD capped the number of PLD in Dynamis at 5. I was able to go on several CKD raids; maybe 1/2 of them and went with other groups the other times.

I guess it seemed like CKD was set with their top PLD and that was that. Even if I got in I wondered if the other PLDs would do the all the fun things while I did the grunt work.

In any case, WoW was getting close to release and a lot of my friends were planning to play. Probably best that I made a clean break from FFXI then.

I tried to tell these goons about Aion around a year ago ;p Its sad though that Aion turned out to be such a great game (( I've been playing in china)) for an ncsoft mmo, and then it instantly turned into a tide-me-over game for half its english and japanese player base the second FF14 was announced, through no fault of its own lol

Problem was when we had our jobs in CKD we just spoiled the balls off them. Should have opened different veins and so not everyone got everything and worn out.

well im officially on break from all MMO's untill FF14 comes out, just sold my wow account for 400 bucks, could've gotton WAY WAY more but i dont have the time or sanity to bother tracking down a private buyer.

I haven't played any MMOs for a while, but I will most likely play FF14. I will play casually though, will probably take me another 2+ years to level a job to cap. On top of casual playing, I might be on a ship or in a different state from my wife, so we might be playing together. I hope to see some of you there, and if we didn't get along very well in FF14, I'll try to be less abrasive next time. (Unless you're just stupid, then we still won't get along)

That website got me more excited. It seems like an enhanced version of FFXI.

What I'm looking forward to the most is gameplay.

Not only did the PS2 hold xi back from evolving or possibly being re-vamped, but the backbone of the whole game was outdated soon after launch when the internet suddenly blew up.

FFXI was designed for a dial-up connection, so over all SE was kind of limited on gameplay and framerate. Considering XIV was designed ground up for a broadband connection, I have a feeling things will be significantly more fluid, no more hardcore character lag, more sparkles, and a real battle system. The fact that they went ahead and used crystal tools for the engine makes me even more excited.

However, I'm a little concerned about the storyline. Hopefully SE didnt spend all of their time making it look good, I need an engaging story!

fyi dial up has nothing with frame rate or gameplay. Everything you described has to do with the graphics of the game. Broadband only affect the way people appear to you. Or actions taken on you or reactions

I am also not very impressed with the graphics I have seen so far to be honest, such as the in game screens in the trailer and such. Though that is too early to tell ofcourse; But when you've been spoiled with such incredible customization sliders in other games such as Aion and AOC, I've come to expect the best from SE and will probably not play their game if they don't deliver it. Their armor and environment graphics are looking great, it is the faces that worry me.

lol didn't mean to come off like a dick. I tend to do that without meaning it.
Anyway. The base problem was the ps2's hardware limitations. Single player final fantasy games on ps2 looked great. But it didn't have to worry network infrastructure and making it open ended yea. Things had to give. Final fantasy 14 will look better. But just like ff11 it won't look as good as most ps3 games. For the simple fact that it has to be completely online.

Nice to see you too Mikey. Do you think things like speed of gameplay, server lag, all that stuff I mentioned will run smoothly on the ps3? I'm thinking, why the hell not? But maybe I'm expecting too much.
