Anyone here actually play Dissidia? It was awesome. Jecht ftw.

Id like to pick a less populare character. Lets get on a server that isnt packed.

My guess is that Exdeath will be the least populated server, because relatively very few people have actually played FF5 since it was never released in English on the SNES.

That may also mean the server ends up being heavily JP populated though, which we might not want to have to deal with again, lol.

Might be able to place Emperor on the short list. No original NES release in the US and he was a bit hard to play as in Dissidia, but FF2 did have one more portable release than FF5, and there is the slightest chance it'd be overloaded with star wars people. haha

Jecht was awesome but I never got the hang of his timing moves. Favorite villain to play was Gabranth.

I have a strong feeling that most NA players are going to fill up the recent villians (Jecht, Ultimecia, lolSephiroth, and Kefka). I'd go to Kefka if I knew that it wasn't going to be full of people. I think decent alternatives could be Shadowlord or Emporer.

It's probably worth pointing out that there's a chance open beta's servers wont be the same as the servers we've been using so far. All we know for sure is that open beta's servers will be the same as retail's servers.

Apparently the original FFXI PS2 JP Beta used villain/boss names for servers too, and then they all got renamed for release.

Jecht was an absolute beast once you learned how to do his combos. I found watching it on youtube a few times to get a rough idea when you're meant to press the buttons was a good idea, then fumble about with it for an hour yourself and all of a sudden it clicks.

I got Cloud, Terra, Zidane, Gabranth, and Jecht all to level 100. By the end Jecht was pretty much my main though.

I probably couldn't do it anymore though because I've not played in ages.

EDIT: "Ultimate Jecht Shot" was god damn awesome lol.

I agree with picking a less popular boss. FFII, IV, or V get my votes. Emperor, Golbez, or Exdeath. Golbez may be more in people's minds with the DS remake, so maybe avoid that one.

Doesn't really matter to me, but I know the BlueGartr community has made Jecht their server during beta. Wouldn't surprise me if they did it during release too.

I think when I leveled Jecht I fought against characters 80 levels above him, he's a monster even if you don't know how to play him and purely unstoppable if you do. Tidus was pretty broken in the JP version, all of his moves were Brave>HP linkable. Still, if I can find sturdy ground I can win out against anybody with Firion.

Hate to derail though, haha.

I like Jecht. I think Emperor would be a less popular server, I haven't talked to anyone that liked Final Fantasy II.

Actually I just had a look at their "whose on what server" list and oddly Kefka is the least picked and some of the ones we've said will be less picked are their most picked.

I can only guess that they all thought exactly the same thing (which servers would be better to pick) when they picked em.

What is SE going to do about server population balancing if some servers are way more populated than expected?

I suppose they could do voluntary server transfers, but I'm not sure how I'd feel about that if I chose a specific server

I dont want to be on the same server as BG. They are a great group of players, but Im not ready for a battle of the egos.

I think im back to leaning to Garland, since its such an ugly name haha.
