So in the next year or so USB 3.0 will become cheaper (as well as motherboards), new graphic drivers will keep releasing, Intel will begin going for a 22nm "more cores" chip and SATA III/6gb will become more readily available as SSD price drop to better support Windows 8 which plans a Summer 2011 release...and the U.S. sits at a crappy #23 in Broadband development...hmmm gotta love technology...just giving you a heads up on the future.

...There will never be one set system and by waiting for the best something will keep replacing it.

Anyway, I may try this out a few weeks after it's been released (November?), wanna read reviews first. Don't think I'd seriously play it unti the summer time though. I def. won't be a Samurai this time around, after playing WoW I realized I enjoy playing casters a lot more.

I'm also playing the Catalcysm beta atm and that's pretty fun so it'll be a tough choice!

I just built myself a brand new PC to run FF14 on.

Coolermaster Cosmos Pure Case
Gigabyte X58A-UD5 Motherboard
Intel i7 960 3.2Ghz CPU
6GB RAM
nVidia GeForce GTX 480
Windows 7 Professional
(And a bunch of other stuff like a proper CPU cooler, bunch of harddrives, etc etc.)

Cost me a small fortune. [spoiler]£1800 (about $2800)[/spoiler]

Gets 5830 in the FFXIV benchmark.

Stupid FFXIV is framerate locked to 30FPS in-game though, what the hell. You'd think they'd have learned by now. Makes me want to rage.

i got almost the same setup as u except 12g ram and a different video card..

the video card brought my score down i only got 3k+ so i ordered the same one but the game runs perfectly fine for me even with this set up, but i am not taking any chances cant wait for my 480 to come in i got the 260 atm

I am just going to bump up my video cards and see what happens before I bump motherboard for i7 cpu, DDR3 RAMS, and maybe one soild drive or 2.



Had you benchtest it yet? I wanna know how those Video cards SLI can handle those test. Also did you overclocked the CPU? be sure test both 720P and 1080P pls.

I've been building my own computers since i was like 12, I really should get into using overclocking, SLI, and water cooling.

I was already at my budget limit anyhow, I couldnt have thrown a second graphics card in there lol.

Benchmark was only at 720P, my monitor cuts off half of the 1080P test which is just gonna mess the score up since it shouldnt render polygons that aren't even on the screen.

Ket what montor are you using? Your video card will do fine, If your playing StarCraft 2 you can turn all those candy on and that card can handle it just fine.

mine a LG 22" wide LCD HD up to 1080P which is my window res set to HD 1080P

Yeah CPU is oc'ed from 2.4ghz to 4.2ghz.

FFXIV as of now doesn't yet support SLi, so only one card was doing the rendering.

I should OC my CPU and RAM. My benchmark score was 1916 on High settings, with i5-750 at 2.8ghz, ram at 1333, and an ATI 4860, nothing OC'd. I should try to get my CPU up to 3ghz at least, memory to 1600, and have a 5770 on the way and run it again.

The game doesn't support SLi yet panther, neither does the benchmark.

Just make sure to have a decent cooler for that CPU Dmitry, and give it a whirl.

i recently ordered a new pc since mine is decrepit and dying. it's got processors and rams and even a fucking video card

i'm still pretty undecided about ffxiv. i just don't want the gameplay to be slow and painful like xi...

I was looking at the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ (I think that's the one) I had an incident a few weeks ago where all 4 cores on my processor were constant 99C but have lately been 39-42 idle (making sure to keep a close eye on it all the time). I don't know if it was a sensor issue or what, but I keep putting it off because I don't want to tear my whole rig apart to put the cooler on >.<

If there is a better cooler for cheaper you could recommend that would be awesome. This was my first build and I don't know anything about aftermarket cooling.

Well i would recommend the corsair h-50, but it's not really cheaper.
