I scored a 4400 on my current rig on low res, which works for me! Full res would basically be full screen, and I don't like playing games full screen. |

2588 on high res with 16x aniso. Would probably be around 3k without aniso on, but since I play all my games with 16x aniso forced on through the control panel I consider the 2588 to be my real score :p The benchmark runs smoothly anyway, with a slight drop in performance when there were a shitload of ghost mobs on the screen. Overall the engine for this game is looking pretty hot, much better than FFXI's :p |

A part of me will miss you always complaining about, 'the pixels in the sky' though, Kayne. <3 |

ok I just bumped my video card upgrade from old 2xMSI NX8800GT OC factory 512gb DDR3 to a single MSI N470GTX Twin Frozr 2 1280gb DDR5 I do plan to get MB,CPU,RAM upgrade later after I decide what to get also getting another same video card as well. my old score was for 720P about 2400s range, new scored 3202 on new card last test on 1080P old card scored 1700s range, new scored 2850 on new card This test was only done on same old setup with NX8800 MSI SLI mode with only video card upgrade to N470 MSI single mode man there is huge jump on this card. I was shock seeing how it turn out. |

what happens if your score is below 1000? do u keep it a secret? O.o |

SE claim that anything below 1000 is supposed to be "unplayable" but I've heard lots of people play beta and say the game ran OK on their system despite the low score. Sure it probably means turning down the resolution and all the effects and textures down, but as long as the benchmark runs, it will probably run. If open beta is actually "open" then just give it a shot and see if it runs. |

Any ideas would be helpful. win 7 premium 64bit i5-430M 4gb memory ati mobility radeon HD 5470, vram ddr3 1gb My drivers r up to date, but if theres anything else I can do, id like to try it. As is the problem with any laptop, the graphics card really lets it down. Looking at a few comparison charts, it seems to be on par with a mobile 9500 GS, which was entry-level and was a pretty weak card 2-3 years ago, never mind for today or for something as graphically intensive as FFXIV. The problem is, any laptop with a real up-to-date and powerful graphics card isn't a laptop any more. I've had a couple in the past, and once you put those things in the laptop it's two times as heavy, runs so hot you've got no chance of actually putting it on your lap, and costs about three times more than buying an equivalent desktop PC would cost. Not much else you can do, because upgrading a laptop's graphics card is basically next to impossible. Only thing you can do is give the open beta a try when it releases and see how well it runs with the graphics settings down low. EDIT: It doesn't help that SE's engine is kind of crappy and unoptimized right now. But the game runs much better than the benchmark does, which is why you should give it a try if you can. |

Thanks for the input, I will certainly give it a try. I plan on playing even if it has to be on low settings. Lets hope for the best in beta. |

That what I was thinking but I will get it anyhow so it will last me another 5 to 8 years without upgrading. Best part about this card N470GTX can run StarCraft 2 maxed setting even N460 can too. Now I got two MSI Nx8800GT Factory OC 512gb DDR3 sitting here wonder what am I going to do with them. |

Does your wife have a PC that could use some graphical updating? Nope, shes got a new laptop that plays Sims 3 smooth as silk at 720p. Thats all she needs lol. She wont play FFXIV, shes too scared, but she will for sure play Diablo III. Id like to think a few Ex Ifrit players would be in for some Diablo III |

I was kinda excited about it when they first announced it, but I'm just scared of WoW elements creeping over to it, although WoW is sorta like Diablo II right? Aside from not being limited to 8 people and being on a much grander scale... I haven't played it though, so don't mind me. I'm also a little scared of spending as much time playing D3 as I did D2. Anyone down for some Cows? I'm always down for cows... |
