So, my mac book pro failed on me a few weeks ago. After numerous failed attempts at repairing it, Apple decided it was a lemon and since I was still under apple care, they decided to replace it with a brand new model. God did I get lucky... I was wondering, would XIV run on these specs? Processor: 2.53 GHz intel core i5 Memory: 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M w/ 256MB & Intel HD w/ 288MB I realize that these aren't very impressive but I wanted to know what you guys thought. I'm not expecting to be able to play on this thing, but if I can (even on the lowest settings) that would be cool. I just thought I'd ask before wasting my time trying to partition my drive, install windows, and run the benchmark. |

Thanks, looks like someone with a model similar to mine had this to say Quote: Ok, I sacrificed 12 hours of my life for this thread since nobody had any real #'s yet.
Bootcamp 3.1 55.2 GB free of 70.7 GB Mid-2010 MacBook Pro 15.4" base model 2.4GHZ Intel Core i5; 3MB shared level 3 cache 4GB of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM 320 GB 5400-rpm HDD NVIDIA GeForce GT330M with 256MB of GDDR3 Windows 7, 32-bit, all patched up, no other software (i.e. no virus scanner) Latest grahics drivers (7/19/2010) Settings: Hyur (female), Resolution LOW (1280,720), English BENCHMARK: 1088 hmmm I wonder if that is good enough to play w/o menu/typing lag. Also, does xiv run better on windows 7 as opposed to windows XP? |
