Hey guys!
I didn't get a chance to try out the beta and I'm not sure what to expect! I want to know what you guys think of the game so far. What do you love? What do you loathe? I'll most likely go out and get it, simply because I love FF...but I want to know what I'm in for!

I want to know how the fatigue system is treating everyone.

I didn't play the Beta, but I did see this video and if you can get past the guy that looks like the comedian Ant with a landing strip on his chin... oof, I'm not sure I could buy this after watching it.

Movien, that dude looks ridiculous! His T-shirt is bad, like his chin. lol He seems to really hate the game. hmmmm....

He also has way too high energy for someone you know is doing this alone. No doubt has a job where he can apply the same kind of enthusiasm... I can't really ignore the copy.....passssstaaaaaainngg (E-yuk) of terrain though. That's one thing I haven't heard amongst the complaints which seems like a doozy.

That video really made it apparent. I thought it was a joke and he was just running around the same area until I looked at the map in the corner of the screen.

11 times for the same area is pretty absurd... I mean... at least re-arrange the flowers or something.

At first it's a very confusing game with awkward controls. I dislike pushing the space bar before I can chat with anybody, and I have trouble playing with a PS3 controller, as opposed to FFXI where (PS2) controller was awesome. Also it requires a pretty decent processor and graphics card to run well (or at all). I have a lot of lag everywhere, and NPCs take 5 minutes to pop up on average in crowded areas (not exaggerating).

That being said, it's a really fun game. The battle system takes some getting used to (setting up abilities and such). But it's fun once you get the hang of it. Repeatable leve quests reward you with decent gil, so you can get a steady income in the game as opposed to FFXI where making gil is pretty difficult unless you farm or camp NMs like crazy. Also crafting is actually fun! And you can advance your crafting for free with crafting leves.

A lot of people from Ifrit are on the Trabia server, and it's fun to re-unite with people and learn a new game together. If your computer can handle the game, you should definately come play A lot of people are playing casual (myself included) so there's no pressure to play 10 hours a day and advance as quickly as possible.

I am not bothered by the copy & paste at all. When I'm in the game, I don't notice. And even now that I'm looking for it, it still doesn't bother me. The huge environments look very beautiful and feel immersive, that is unless you are predisposed to hating the game like the warcraft doucheface in that video.

Sure this game has a long way to go if it wants to become the masterpiece that FFXI was. Not only does it have tons of potential to be that and more, but it's already fun as it is now.

You could argue that copy pasting terrain is lazy, but it's a very shallow criticism for MMOs where the worlds don't need to be directed as much as other games.

I can't take that guy seriously--he looks like he just ate out of someone's asshole with that ridiculous thing on his chin.

I have to admit that there are a lot of things that I want them to fix in the game, but I absolutely love playing it. It's so fun playing a game that we know little about. Exploring places, figuring crap out for the first time. I'm having a blast.

My main issues are a lack of a AH and inventory sorting. And I'm sure something will come soon to address those issues. The copy/paste thing is noticeable to me (even before it was spread around on the internet), but like Whisp said, the zones are so large and pretty, that I can overlook it.

I guess I had noticed it in regards to caves. Most caves are copy/paste. Slightly disappointed when I find a new cave, but really I don't care. I'm there to kill moles and bats and stuff, not to admire the layout of the cave.

Oh, and it's worth mentioning that the quests/missions are just as immersible as they were in 11. Awesome cutscenes, some voice acting, neat characters. It really draws you into it. I tried to do the latest mission for me, and I got stomped by some forest elemental. I think I stood too close, however. I'll attempt it again when maintenance is over.

I love the game. Like Rid said, it's a lot of fun figuring stuff out. As much as we know about the game already, we don't know shit. Group combat is really fun, and much faster pace than XI. There's almost zero downtime, and no 'pulls' really - the group just moves in unison.

Yes, everything I've seen so far looks visually stunning. Copy/paste doesn't really bother me...is it so frequent that you are often confused about your location? I've heard a few complaints about the controls, but usually that type of thing just takes a little getting used to. Are the controls really that terrible?

Oh please, the cut and paste isnt that much worse than other MMO games. WoW is just as bad if someone points it out too.

Controls are lacking a few things that will ultimately get patched in. No FKey for targeting monsters, or anything like that, just yet. I play keyboard only, and I'm not having a horrible time with it.

Yeah, if you dont plan on enjoying this game for the social aspect, I wouldnt recommend anyone pick it up.

but if youre looking to reconnect with some ffxi friends or make some new ones, do it. We are having a blast in guild chat. At least when Im online its fun haha.
