Accuracy rates from front, side, rear After 100 swings versus Black Eft Front: 50% accuracy Side: 74% accuracy Rear: 79% accuracy ------------------------------------------------- I partied with the folks from Bloodsworn again today and found out about an exploit. The thaumaturge trait "Firm Conviction" turns the thaum into a tank, even for incredibly toughs. It boosts %Physical Dmg reduction by 20% every time you cast a spell, for a max of 80%. While a gladiator and marauder get hit for about 400, the thaum was getting hit for 150. So we just never provoked and let the thaum tank. ------------------------------------------------- Marauder skill "Warmonger" takes 2min to recast so it's not a main voke type skill. It causes all monsters in range to become Enraged. Target is self. |

Wait, so that ability lasts longer than the duration of the spell? I thought you'd only get the defense boost during the actual seconds of cast time... I'm picking that up tonight, omg! |

I found my first case of botters today. Jion Hacking (yea right what a name) & Sharly Start They are identical, standing next to each other in the awesome thistlemarmot cave near Emerald Moss. Level 24. They have a cure, cure, cure, shock spikes routine, then their little heads spin around target and attacking monsters. They dont respond to text. They havent moved in an hour. They even manage to somehow steal monsters I have claimed and are half dead and red text. This sucks. I did a GM call, but it's currently not active, so I had to go to the website to report them. What first tipped me off is that they kept curing themselves for 0 over and over when they should be competing with me for pulls. |

That's fucked up when botters start coming around and ruinning the fun of this game. ![]() |

From what I read, the ability gives you a -20% damage bonus every time you cast a non-buff spell. Which stacks until -80% damage. If someone, either you or someone else, casts a buff on you (not sure if Sacrifice's Regen counts) you lose the bonus and go back to 0%. Of course this is easily exploitable. However it's use is probably somewhat limited right now with the lack of any HNMs or anything to use it on. You could use it for SP but nobody will need healing so it screws other mage's SP over. That said, I doubt SE intended it to be used like that and will probably "fix" it somewhere down the line. |

One gave 250 and the other 350. So I'm sitting at 2600 marks at WVR26. |

ket, u would like this skill Warmonger say a monster pops behind u and is attacking a mage, normally you'd need to toggle to the monster, turn and face it and provoke, then turn back around and continue fighting with Warmonger, u just hit Warmonger and it provokes the monster behind u (and the one ur fighting)... very convenient. also the icon lasts 2x as long as provoke |

Quote: I found my first case of botters today.
I found some in Cassie dungeon. Two mages with same gear heads spinning around wildly in an empty room like the exercist. Their names were the jumbled letters that the rmt advertisers spam from. Very upsetting, but hopefully this game will have an atmosphere where rmt wont be so lucritive, unlike 11. |

Thought I'd point out to people that the Elemental Wheel is not the same as FFXI. In FFXI, we had one big wheel as such: Fire > Ice > Wind > Earth > Lightning > Water > Fire Instead, in FFXIV, we have two separate wheels. This is from the in-game manual "Call to Adventure": Quote: Fire melts ice, but is extinguished by wind.
Ice obstructs wind, but is melted by fire. Wind extinguishes fire, but is obstructed by ice. Earth grounds lightning, but is eroded by water. Lightning boils water, but is grounded by earth. Water erodes earth, but is boiled by lightning. This equates to: Wind > Fire > Ice > Wind Earth > Lightning > Water > Earth The important changes are that Wind now beats Fire instead of Earth, and Water now beats Earth instead of Fire. Additionally, in one of SE's Ask the Devs, they pointed out how the elemental affinity works. Increasing your affinity in a particular element does not make you strong against it, it makes you strong against the element it is already strong against. For example, if you want to resist Poison you dont need Water affinity, you need Lightning. Think of boosting your elemental affinity akin to turning yourself into an Elemental. Increasing your Earth affinity makes your Earth attacks stronger and increases your defense against Lightning. Increasing Fire affinity makes your Fire attacks stronger and increases your defense against Ice. |
