Notorious Monsters In the past weeks, several topics posts were released detailing notorious monsters (NMs) that will be appearing in upcoming faction levequests. Today's post, however, will be covering those NMs not bound by guildleves; those NMs that roam unchecked through the wilds of Aldenard and Vylbrand. Some are simply large, while others are utterly towering. Some wield foul magicks, while others deliver devastating strikes. Some will only appear at certain times of the day, while others will wait for a certain type of weather before emerging. The one trait, however, that they all have in common is that their strength is "impossible to gauge," and therefore should not, by any means, be underestimated. Adventurers with the courage to take on these nefarious creatures should do so with the utmost caution...though, a few companions to even the odds would not hurt, as well, for only those who survive the challenge will reap the spoils that await.

Yeah I thought as much that that's what they'd do. There's no other way to engage crafters in the new content. I don't really agree with SE's idea that it should be possible to play the entire game start to finish as purely a crafter/gatherer. It's making the story stuff really tame compared to what we got in FFXI. Since they have to be designed so a crafter can beat it, and so that any one person can solo it, we get nothing like the epic "Rank 3 Dragon", the airship pass stuff, and probably wont see anything like Shadow Lord at all. Moreso than having to find a crafter (and all the other ingredients) once you get your drop, the annoying part is going to be the chance that the synth fails. And thats assuming you can get one, people gonna be camping and selling the item for profit... |

eh, whatever I actually don't mind it since competition can be a good thing, even if it's annoying as all hell it will give us something to do. |

So these are world spawns? They drop really rare materials for even more rare armor\weapons? Why is square taking 10 giant steps back now? |

Well we're not entirely sure what those items they drop are even for. Well, except the buffalo drops an item for a "Bloody Lance" i guess. They already basically confirmed that all the armor sets come from faction leves. If anything they're probably trying to go half and half. So you're not forced to grind for faction points if you dont want to. |

Great Buffalo looks like huge and I am seeing little people getting smash to death lol. Btw Ket its "Bloody Lance head" oooo I wonder what are the stat on this weapon will be. |
