Tomorrow (Tuesday) night, at 7pm EST, new LQs become available. I'm curious who would be interested in doing some big r40 leve-linking, perhaps at Broken Water and Halatali (sp?).

Looking at the CKD roster, we have quite a few players who qualify for this (r33+):

44+ [might hurt exp for lower ranks, i have no idea]
Shadow (MIA?)
Arastos
Madi
Rushal (MIA?)
Danni Boi (MIA?)

36-43
Jong
Ket
Kio
Ridere
Me omg
Krellis
Lydya (MIA?)
Corwin
Ill Euryto
Droutout

33-35 [exp might be hurt if there are high ranks coming]
Bobaboba
Niz
Kitty
Kotee
Zuldane (MIA?)
Spyder
Bailey
Black Cat

btw looks like Enjin.com's banners are working again.

Might be worth explaining what this is.

It's been worked out that if you get a group of 15 people and leve-link as many leves as possible and run around doing every leve at a couple of camps you can make 20k+ SP per hour.

Well, I imagine this would work for any rank leves. I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to try this out with a group of people for R20 or R30 leves, too. Could be a fast way of getting some of our 20-somethings up there.

Still waiting for a full report from Whisp, Madi, or someone, explaining what stars were used, what the total SP was after doing all the leves and such.

Notes:
I was fatigued the entire time. This affects the numbers of course.
We did 4 stars for everything as far as I can tell
Level range was something like 38-49
The most SP I got on a single monster without guardian aspect was 250, average was about 140 per kill
Seems the primary factor in determining the quality of the LQ was the number of leve-links.
They theorized that it caps at 3 leve-links, and anything more doesnt add to the bonus.
Dogs are annoying at 4 stars as they will seemingly Benediction like 8 times in a row from 1hp

Broken Water: 18500 SP in about 1 hr 15 min
All Cracked Up 2200sp
Thwack Ye Mole 1600sp
Hiding Under the Beds 2700sp
Netting the Gnats 1800sp
Whipping the Curs 1500sp
Dunesfolk for Dinner (used Guardian Aspect per suggestion) 5000sp
Devilet's Best Friend 1000sp
Terrible Thirst 1600sp
Necro: Ranine 1200sp got about

Then we fucked around for about 45min fighting NMs and waiting

Halitali: 12000 SP in 1 hr 5 min
Restless be the Damned 1000sp (could have been 1400sp if we did the right order)
Juggling Knives 1300sp
Desert Defilement 1900sp
Necro: All Things Must Die (nobody leve-linked) 900sp
Bigger Fish to Fry 1500sp
Preventing the Plague 2000sp
Cat Eat Dog 1200sp
Stalking the Stalkers (used Guardian Aspect) 1200sp
Bigger Fish to Fry (again) 900sp

Total: 32500 SP / 3hr 5min

Had a really rough day at work/school. I'm considering quitting the doctoral program altogether, as I don't think it's working out for me. In any case, I don't know what my sched will be like tomorrow, so if I'm not on just go ahead w/o me if u guys want.

This is approx 10k/hour.

I understand that you just messed around for 45 minutes in the middle, but I'm afraid this is no faster than we can already achieve running around killing mobs in dungeons. On a good day with some focussed grinding at the right rank we were edging 12-13k/hour. And that can be done any time without scheduling or organization.

EDIT: In the sake of fairness, worked out that if you take out the "45 minutes screwing around" in the middle it becomes 14k/hour instead.

EDIT2: Just to be even more fair, I took away 10% fatigue to give about 15.5k/hour instead.

This is the problem I forsee with this, when you have so many people all in one place you're inevitably gonna get people screwing around and wasting time, going afk, and other nonsense. Not to mention gathering time involved beforehand that you could otherwise just be grinding through as usual.

That's not to say it wouldn't be nice as a change of pace, but once you factor in the human element its probably more trouble than it's worth. I was hoping to see something more like 20-25k/hour.

I'd like to try this as a linkshell, but the only time I probably could is on a weekend with advanced notice.

you only regain 3 guardian aspects per cycle, so, assuming the following:
1) you use 3 aspects on the 3 best LQs
2) no dicking around
3) perhaps replace halitali with crimson and/or 9ivies
4) no fatigue

then i think the potential is > 20k / hr

I got around the same as Jong. I think I used around 7 aspects too, didn't keep track of that.

I'm kind of agreeing with Ket on this one. It seems like a lot of trouble for only a modest gain in SP/hour. Even at 20k/hour, the fact that you're having to do it only at a select time, relying on 14 other people, and hoping to god that there are no distractions, it just doesn't justify the 20k extra you'd get total (Being generous) over spending that amount of time in a dungeon. Even less if you figure SP you'd gain in the dungeon as the team gathers together, with people running late, etc.

That being said, there are a lot of benefits to do this...

1.) In our hypothetical, it'd be LS onry, which already makes it kind of a silly, fun event. Much better than pugs. Given whisp and jongy's run down, I've no interest in doing this as a pick up group, simply because of the distractions.

2.) You do get gil, and/or marks, and the occasional piece of gear/loot.

3.) As we do NMs, it would be a good way to bank up some Faction if you don't feel like soloing leves at your leisure to fill your faction bank.

If it was something that could be done spur-of-the-moment, without idling around a crystal as 14 people gathered, I think it'd be a lot more awesome. As it stands, it seems like it'd be a fun thing to peg as a re-occurence on our "in development" event calendar, and make it a simple weekly event to sort of just have fun with LS members.

Taking that one step further, if we were to schedule a weekly LS leve linking party, I'd go as far as to suggest we don't even bother with the R40 one. Most people 40+ have their own plans already for how they're going to achieve getting to rank 50.

Our R20-R35 members, however, are probably a bit more discouraged and could possibly really benefit from us organizing something like this. It would also be a good chance to let some of ther higher rank people work on another job that they want to get to 30-35 eventually for some ability, but haven't really felt all that motivated to do such yet.

Just throwing that out there. I guess overall, sounds like once you actually start doing the fighting, leve-linking leves is a decent way to get SP. But if pure SP/hour is your main goal, it doesn't sound like this is all that hot, as long as you have some other form of SPing at around 10k/hour.

p.s. Aspect bonuses are nice, but I don't think you'd be able to use 7 every leve reset.

A few of us got a pearl to Holy Hand Grenade, a r40 leve-linking linkshell comprised of just about all the r40+ NAs on Trabia. Including all the olf eft and raptor folks that have stuck around. Seems to be a pretty cool group. They all have separate, primary social linkshells like CKD and the new Iravati. They have felled the spawn NMs like a dozen times and have lots of good gear from that.

For those of us without permas to duo/trio with, these are a nice break to soloing. Can be some definite fun. But trying to coordinate 10+ people is obviously a headache.

Another bonus to leve-linking is you make a lot of gil (from what I hear) while gaining SP. I soloed LNC to 31 and I'm already burnt out. Leve linking would be a nice change. I need to gain 1 more rank so I can do R40 though...

I've been getting a fantastic 4-5k an hour (max) since rank 21...so it's taking a while. I have never seen this alleged 10k+ an hour people speak of haha.

just got 25k in 1 hour at broken water. so it is possible.
the trick is:
have 4 people link (that's 1 person start the leve and 3 people link, preferably no more / no less)
4-stars
15-member party works well
know which to use guardian aspect on (underlined in my list above)
