Keen Flurry

Going to activate my Keen Flurry ability to harness the power of positive thinking.

I feel guilty at the moment for doing what comes easy to me, and that is to target the bad aspects of the game and its design philosphy. However, negativity is highly contageous and only serves to spread a bad mood and hopelessness to those within earshot.

So, I thought to myself. There has to be a reason beyond stubburness or hope for the better that I continue to play as well as many others. There are indeed things that were good ideas implemented into it, it just gets so overshadowed by flaws.

So how about it? What good qualities or things you actually do like about FFXIV have you hunted down?
What has improved from FFXI or is unique addition to the MMO world.

The best thing about FFXIV is CKD. The second best thing is how it looks. the game looks amazing.

However, every other aspect (as in 99% of the game) is garbage.

Like Yarr said, the best thing going for FF14 right now is playing with all you assholes. haha.

I do like the Armory System, for the most part. Mixing and matching abilities that you've earned is pretty slick. It'll be even better if they (hopefully) implement a way of raising affinity on non-class abilities to at least 80%, or higher. Currently we can get them to 60%, I think.

being able to switch jobs on the fly anywhere anytime!
having old friends from CKD and new friends met in game
crafting minigame is much more engaging
getting free materials to level craft via levequests
so easy to level craft and make your own gears that you feel proud to use
crystals not counting as inventory
tons of inventory slots
not needing a separate set of gear for every job
increased accuracy from the sides and especially behind monsters
the ability to increase item drop rate by using incapacitation
seamless transition between town and country
no competition for mining points and harvesting points
fishing rods and pickaxes dont snap in half
not stuck to rigid 6-member parties
easy access to a person's level on every job via lodestone
the concept that a new dev team is going to make sweeping changes
the graphics, especially monster graphics
the game doesn't look like a saturday morning cartoon nor have a crapload of 15 year old retards
the way you can equip many abilites from many jobs and not stuck to job/subjob
being able to grind the last 10k tnl solo if necessary
familiar final fantasy staples like moogles, chocobo, ifrit, job system, races, crafts, most abilities, but also some new stuff sprinkled in there

I am waitting for SE to add mission storyline and side quest that we have goal to work on and also AF gears to make it as goal as well.

Actually Whisp basically posted everything that I fully agree on heehee.

I like the idea of gathering being a class job with it's own set of abilities, story lines etc.
I also liek that it gives me a sense of progression in the game while also doing an otherwise mundane chore.

I like soloing hard things and posting pictures of it because I'd shoot myself before lvlng another class to 50 before the SP changes are implemented so theres not much else for me to do. I also enjoy spamming kio with random song lyrics from singers that she hates, and I also enjoy shitting shards on people because I despise crafting. I enjoy imagining the prospect of summoner in xiv with xiv's amazing graphics. I also enjoy imagining repeatedly raping krellis in future pvp.
