I think i've been missing alot more lately after messing around with my stats last week. I may need to increased my DEX up.

I was talking to someone about it and they mentioned that stats seemed to have less of an impact in ffxiv then it did in ffxi. Is this true? all yah GLADs out there what do you think? do GLADs just enjoy to miss alot or does DEX make a difference. my dex is currently set to 55. STR 137 and VIT 137. :o :( ](*,)

Right now they don't seem to have much impact. That's not to say they don't do anything, as having 50 less stat points than someone else becomes very obvious.

SE are looking like they're going to scrap it and rethink it in future though. Possibly replace it with base stats per class + "merit points" like FFXI did.

For the record, I have:

100 STR
170 VIT
80 DEX

I have dexterity as my highest stat and I miss a ton still.

as a GLA you want 170 VIT. Vit is basically the only stat in this game that matters right now, not to say dex +50 doesn't add up tho

I lowered DEX and cranked up VIT. I noticed I die less as LNC, while not suffering from the loss of DEX. GLA should definitely have VIT maxed out.

my stats:
STR 133
VIT 130 (156 with gear and VIT rings which I now use on NMs)
DEX 103

btw max VIT is 174. and VIT you get through stats is the only type of VIT that effects your HP. so all GLA should have VIT 174... and to be honest pretty much everyone. its the only stat that actually matters

i de-pumped my 174 VIT down to 80 VIT, meanwhile pumping STR & DEX. i definitely hit harder and more often now.
but i miss my hit points. i feel fragile now. i think i should pump more back into VIT.

im not sure i feel maxing vit is necessary. unless they put in NM's that are consistantly delivering blows for 2k, it doesnt seem like u need that much

take buffalo for instance,
as a melee standing to the side of buffalo, before, with 2500+ HP, i could take several aoe hits and still not have to worry about HP.
now at 1900+ HP, im constantly having to run out of range and cure myself to avoid dying. or else i have to pop rampart, defender, bloodbath, etc, when i should just be dealing damage. so adding str/dex instead of vit actually causes me to do less total damage

To me, a lot of this is hearsay. Until someone sits down and crunches the numbers or a decent log parser comes out, I don't know that we'll truly know the effect of each stat. Personally, I have felt the effect of STR, VIT, and DEX as I've moved my stats around... and none of them felt like it had a bigger impact than the others. Then again, that's my own skewed view of what it "feels" like.

well as ARC you are never called upon to tank. as MRD, i am, and i feel very fragile right now with 80 vit.

I havent played GLA but I am thinking I would put 174 in VIT and all the rest in MP. That seems to make sense to me. Not sure what kind of hate melee does, but I know my spells piss off mobs all the time.
