...Well I image they don't smell sweet but anyhow.... Dev's confirmed today that you will be able to enter in your own choco's name, and that chocobos will not have surnames. I was a bit curious what everyone is planning on naming your own. I'm kinda at a creative void at the moment myself.

Apparently although there will be no "name tag" for your chocobo. Other people will see in the chat log when you call them, so you'll see something like: Xxcloud Mcstrife calls Boco. So your chocobo name will matter somewhat. Ket Solais calls Forpizza. |

Actually I was going to name it Interceptor from FF6, but......... Just read an update from com rep the following rules apply to naming: -10 character limit  the name killer right there-No spaces -No special characters -No intercapitalization -Names will not be user specific, so other players on the same server can use the same name. |

'nother update from the staff today said they decided not to have chocobo names appear when called (boo) so currently there's no way of anyone ever seeing your personal choco's name. Except there will be in a future patch, chocobo battles which then it's name will appear as part of the on-goings in the log. |

Joined limsa and ended up naming my bird Interceptr (he eats strangers). Bummed out that they lied and its really 10 character like oriignally stated. Had to truncate the name which makes it look dumb. |

The names were growing on me as I tried to figure out how to beat the character limit. lol |
