This is what I'm planning on doing. I have all those Materia.

Sword: Strength III +13 Strength
Shield: Lifethirst II +12 HP +11 MP
Head: None
Body: Vitality IV +16 VIT
Hand: Heavens Fist I Attack Power +10
Waist:Bloodthirst II +32 HP
Legs: Lifethirst IV +30 HP +16 MP
Feet :Bloodthirst IV +55 HP

Other Materia I have, and willing to trade:

Manathirst III
Lifethirst II
Mind IV
Ironman's Will III
Watchman's Vigil II
Vestryman's Faith III
Heavens Fist I
Craftsman's Competence III
Bomb Blood I
Bison Hoof II

I'm open to suggestions.

These probably aren't exact values, because I'm not logged in atm and can't remember them all, but my GLA setup is currently:

Sword: Nothing atm, I want to dual-meld VIT onto a Winglet though. (Having trouble being online at the same time as our resident BSM so I can get this melded.)

Shield: DEF+18
Head: MP+33
Body: VIT+27 (dual-melded two Tier III VIT, I believe it was a +12 and a +15, brings total on body piece to +34!)
Hands: HP+60
Legs: STR+8 VIT+8
Feet: HP+60
Waist: HP+60 (I'm considering putting an Enmity IV piece here instead once they don't cost an absolute fortune)

This didn't cost as much to do all that as it looks. For the first week or so after the patch I simply sold the matera I didn't want and used the proceeds to purchase the materia I did want. Unfortunately the market has crashed a little since then, with everything except Tier IV being so common.

Dual-melding isn't as hopeless an idea as you might think. Just use two Tier III materia instead of Tier IV, and the success rate will be around 20%. Some Tier III materia goes for ridiculously cheap prices because it's a hell of a lot more common than IV and in less demand. I usually run through the wards picking up all of ther Tier III VIT for around 10-15k. Then get ahold of 2-5 (depending on your luck) copies of the armor piece and meld away.

Haven't bothered price checking the Materia, I assumed it was expensive to get, dual melding still sounds scary, specially since i dont want to lose my cobalt armor cause i dont think i could afford another set.
