Man, does anyone else feel overwhelmed? I don't mean this in a bad way. It just seems like there's so much I need to do in the game, and I'm not sure exactly which direction I want to take first. haha.

I made al list during Phase 3 of the stuff I wanted to accomplish in Phase 4, with the understanding that we'd keep our progress. This mainly involved me making a spreadsheet of all the gear sets I wanted to craft, and where to look for the materials that dropped from monsters that I wouldn't have on my retainers right away. This worked out real well. If it weren't for the 90000 error, I would have accomplished a lot more of my other goals. But either way, I felt like I got a lot done in P4, and I'm trying to come up with a list of what to do for release.

Here's what I accomplished during Phase 4:

  • Storyline up to Ifrit fight (Damn you, 90000!!!)
  • ACN to 20
  • CNJ class quests up to 20
  • FSH class quests up to 20
  • ACN class quests up to 15 (Damn you, 90000!!!)
  • Explored every overworld map and got all Aetherytes
  • Crafted equipment sets for DoM (lvl 20 and 40)
  • Crafted equipment sets for DoH (lvl 20, 30 and 40)
  • Crafted equipment sets for DoL (lvl 20)

Here's my current plan after early release/launch:

  • Unlock WHM and BLM
  • ACN to 30
  • Unlock SCH and SMN
  • ACN/SCH/SMN to 50
  • Start collecting AF on DoM jobs
  • DoL/DoH jobs to 50

Just to keep myself sane for now, I'm going to have to completely ignore the DoW jobs. Even putting DoW on hold, just writing down what I'm planning to do, it still seems like so much. haha. On top of all of that, I still need to make sure that I'm exercising and trying to be as social as my nerdy self can tolerate IRL :D

Anyone else have any plans of attack for launch?

i think my main goal will be to exp the last few levels of LTH, WVR, CRP, ARM, and GSM, load up my gear full of craftsmanship and control, and then be able to craft the DoH artifact gear.

i also wanna get BOT to 50. i love being able to gather items whenever i want. i want to go around the world and just collect tons of mats to put into the CKD company chest. since FSH and BOT can share gear, i'll level them together.

and lastly, help CKD in dungeons.

my action plan
- finish GLD quests
- unlock/get pld quest done
- get cul quest done and up to 50.
- get botany up to a decent level.

and maybe get fishing to a high enough level. I want to really focus on Cul and sell/use my food lol.

This brings up a question if you are level 50 and get level syn'd down to 45 or 30 or 20 Do you actually need gear of that level? I assume you do not as I never noticed losing gear when level sync'd from like 20 to 15 but then again I also never looked and most of my gear was probably still wearable anyway.

I didn't get nearly that much done. Only finished the MRD questline and the main story quests. I haven't explored much, and I only got Arcanist to 10.

When the game releases I have a few plans:

- Finish every main storyline and GC quest
- Do all class quests all the way to 50
- Unlock all dungeons and primals
- Complete Guildhests up to the highest one
- Work on relic
- Get ACN to 50 (I really don't care much about this, because everybody and their mom is playing ACN right now).

I would like to fight Ifrit, Mog, Garuda, and Titan (in that order). I will do those as often as possible in between everything.

EDIT: Vurin it just scales down the gear to the appropriate level.

No, Vurin.

When I was doing dungeons as CNJ/THM50, wearing my dated 38 gear, I didn't have my gear unequiped from me. I imagine the stats get reduced by some factor of the amount you sync. So you shouldn't have to worry about that.

I made the other sets of DoM gear, simply because I plan on leveling up ACN, and I'll be honest... I'd rather take the gil rewards from quests than lose out on getting 1k gold in metal pieces, so that I can get a new pair of gloves I'll eventually NPC sell back for 20g.

I really really just hope we get a few solid months to hammer out the current available content before they start hitting us with new stuff to do. I need to check some things off my "to do" list.

As for my Goals I want to get Archer/Bard to 50 so I can do whatever passes for "endgame" content in the game and start getting it geared out. In the meanwhile I'll probably level bot/mining to 50 and leatherworking/carpentry with leevees/rested xp.
Once that's done presumably my Archer will be reasonably geared out and I'll level a MRD or gladiator to tank things as the mood strikes me.

Stuff like fishing and Cnj/Thm hold little appeal to me so I'll probably put them off as long as possible excepting what I need to unlock Bard (and my Cnj is already past 15 anyway).

I didn't get as much done as I'd have liked due to the character already logged in error.

I did the main story up to Satasha, GLA story a decent amount, and started on Conjurer.

Plans for launch are to unlock Paladin as fast as I can and push that to level cap asap so I don't miss out on anything.

No idea, I was gonna play an archer then go down the bard route, but after taking a GLD to 17 (with a friend on a new server cause he could not make a char on Hyperion and I hope that they open new chars in early access on the server!) anyhow the GLD was good fun, tanking was fun, reminded me of back when I first got hooked on wow and tanking... In short ill end up playing ARC/BRD and wishing I was playing something else, so will end up levelling all sorts of random things, falling asleep when camping mobs, then never hitting lvl 50 :)

Of course doing anything assumes that the 90000 error does not occur leaving everyone in limbo playing solo :)

I went balls deep and got Ifrit fight done and ARC quest done up to level 20 everything that bard can use like blood for blood and invigorate is all past level 20 for LNC so no big deal there all I need now is play ARC unlock BRD then level LNC for abilities since I want to be more of a DPS BRD then support.

My only goal was to level CNJ high enough to get the airship pass.

I ended up stopping the main quest line after copperbell mines because all the xp was being wasted on my lvl 20 char.

I had some additional play time, so I tried out GLD for a while.


The plan for release is to continue the main story line.

Damnit I forgot about that. If they change the Good Kind Mog song I am going to RAGE!!!!

It will be nice to have dungeon and instance caps go all the way up to 50, so we can learn how to maximize DPS and use all abilities.

I really need more time to check out all the jobs. I only played a few in beta.

when is the next update set to go live? theres so much new stuff I hope they wait at least 3 months before they bring out new things to do.

I believe they said that first update will be about 2-3 months down the road.

Im starting to be come very interested in gather job. I have lost all interest in crafting, but I do like the idea of gathering tons of stuff and dumping it on the CKD vault.

That sounds like a good idea plus you can be a tycoon and earn mad gil I plan on dumping my gathering stuff in the CKD vault as well.

I mainly plan on working on the main story line with ACN and joining CKD events. I'll also do a bunch of mining and crafting in between to work towards luminary.
