They need a mix of things to do end game maybe have the upper levels of crystal tower be raid team only. I don't want to play with an alliance they think that everyone else is going to pick up the slack in healing, tanking, and dpsing. |

I was on for a little bit this morning. Ran my expert and logged. Kinda hurting from the surgery. I'm on for coil and to cap for the most part lately. |

I'm burnt out on coil, too, to be honest. It is a drag. I really don't like how the game for me has turned into 3 nights of Coil, and then 4 nights of doing repetitive grinding for this never-ending weapon quest. A friend of mine from another game just recently started playing, so I've been doing stuff with her, but yah. I can't really fault people for not wanting to play. haha. |

kinda wish they'd put a pause on dungeons and make other types of content. What about re-envisioning 1.0 content like hamlet defense, chocobo escort, and the original concept of that island thing (endless enemies, see how many you can kill in a time limit and how you score against the server)? While I think their strategy is wise of forcing players back unto unpopular or outgrown content (read: fates) it's also a bit of a drag. I wonder if there was a better way of encouraging players to revisit content so that those behind them aren't left wanting of participants. Maybe slow down the leveling rate for the new classes? But even that is only temporary. Glad I'm not a dev cause this is already hurting my head trying to find a compromise lol. I do at least appreciate the allagan currency system. It's still grinding but at least I can get my loot from a variety of content of my choosing. |

They kind of messed up when they gave the player community their old characters, levels, and weapons/armor it was great at the start but now they are playing catch up with the player base trying to release new content, after new content (which is hard work) but after a few weeks we are wanted more and more. At least with starting fresh characters they would have a little more time making a better end game which they should have beefed up before launch. Now the best they can do is throw grinding quest at us with the new content. |

That wouldnt have bought them as much time as you think. And it would have infuriated the few returning players. I feel the problems stem mainly from: 1) Tying real life time limit consequences into in-game currency-based obligations 2) Basing progression around gear "item level," it's like the carrot and stick analogy. 3) Combat that is too fast paced to chat and socialize. It's really hard to build new friendships. You all may not have been affected much, but my last 6 months without a linkshell really opened my eyes to how anti-social this game has become, especially compared to FFXI. 4) Making everything in the game instanced. The actual world feels inconsequential and void of life. 5) And this is one that really really irritated me... All the content in FFXIV requires prior knowledge, and if you aren't "experienced onry," you are ridiculed, or worse, you are prevented from even participating. What they should have done is made it like the early days of FFXI. A mix of open world and instanced events that reward you with gear and items instead of tomestones of blablabla. Slower leveling jobs that people can't cap in one week. Crafting that actually has meaning. Gear that isn't useless a month later. Battles that are based more on timely use of skills rather than memorization of when to move where. I could go on and on. The game isn't boring, it has just become very abrasive. |

I agree with you Whisp. I wrote a big long rant but decided not to post it, but it basically boiled down to that sentiment. Anyho, anyone know if the producer letter today will be live translated by anyone? If so, any links? |

I made so many friends in FFXI. Some that I stay in touch with today...mostly through facebook comments/reading...but honestly that's how I keep in touch with 90% of my friends and family irl. I never made a single friend in 3+ years of FFXIV that wasn't part of our FC/LS. The community is mostly compiled of impatient anti-social people who want instant gratification on everything. I suppose that's the culture of MMO now. ---------------------- back on topic. The new job/class looks fucking awesome. Spy showed me the video at lunch. It almost made me want to play again. I wish this game had more stuff that catered to my irl time where I can play for 15 minutes then afk for 2 hours. There is no way I could commit to coil or learning new primals again. I suppose could just sit in the FC house holding Cruxis hand while everybody is off doing instanced content ![]() All community bitching aside, I do like the people in our FC and miss the social interactions with them. |

I really only log on to do a daily dungeon. but lately i havent even done that. I was hoping housing would be a place to hang out but that isnt the case. it seems like every single FC house I've looked in has been empty. just a good way to spend 250 million gil i guess. |
