Doesn't require installing. Just download and unzip to a folder. 1.6GB. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/benchmark/download/ If you haven't done so recently, I'd recommend updating your video card drivers too. |

Obligatory benchmark result: Maximum, 1080p, DX11. ![]() I'd say not bad considering this PC is coming up on 5 years old. Not an amazing score, but it averages 58 FPS in a benchmark loaded with tons of stuff going on at once. Good enough for me. Hit "Save Score" to get the following info dump: Quote: FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward Benchmark Tested on: 27/04/2015 14:31:22 Score: 7402 Average Frame Rate: 58.300 Performance: Extremely High -Easily capable of running the game on the highest settings. There's a special template called "Maximum (DirectX 9)" which turns these off for a fairer comparison. |

I got just over 11k and someone else with a similar setup(500 mHz slower i7) got 17k. I think I need to look at my PC lol EDIT: The benchmark didn't show that he has 970s in SLI, makes sense now. lol |

DeadLegend wrote: Auspice wrote: Average Frame Rate: 87.154 wut It's 1080p with a 970, not surprising. That's one of the best cards you can get and 1080p isn't that hard to drive anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if my rig could only reach the high 70s / low 80s on 1080p. Edit: Yup, still beats a 690. 10210 @1080p / 85.530 fps. Spoiler: show |

At what number of frames per second does a moving picture slow down? How does that even work with digital animation as opposed to say, film? (Not that anything is on film anymore) |

I'm not sure what exactly you're asking here. Film is generally 24 frames per second. Here's an interesting article on how our eyes work in regards to frame rates in film/games: http://www.100fps.com/how_many_frames_c ... ns_see.htm |

I built this PC in 2011 and upgraded the GPU in late 2012. I'm surprised it still runs modern games well enough. A lot of your scores are crazy high. Ludicrous speed!! Spoiler: show

That's pretty much like my old PC that I had built for Skyrim; it still handles everything on decent settings. |
