Available today! You can now download the new benchmark tool.

It's mostly the same as the old one, however the entire character creator is included. You can insert your created character into the benchmark, or save the character's appearance as a file you can re-load into the full game's creator when it comes out.

Holy shit, nice benchmark score. It seems higher than the previous benchmark. If I recall correctly, the good scores were in the 8000s at 1920x1080 max settings. I'll have to try it out later when I get home.

I am having difficulty deciding what to re-roll as, and it's starting to stress me out a little bit lol. I wanted to be manthra, then lalafel, now maybe manthra again...this will help a bit.

I'm having trouble deciding if I should keep the tied-back hairstyle I've had in FF14 or go back to the onion bulb style from FF11. Also wondering if I should keep the last name Onionhead, or try something new. Definitely staying Lalafel though.

As an aside, apparently people have discovered they can dat-mine Phase 4 stuff out of the benchmark.

People now have lists of all of the dungeons, all of the zones, PvP faction names, and all sorts of crazy stuff. There's pictures of all of the minions and mounts (of which there looks to be some kind of unicorn too lol), and there's a "help text" picture of "free company branding" on gear.

There's also pictures of basically all free company emblem parts, barding icons, fishing tutorials, and more. You can find most of it at: http://www.daevaofwar.net/index.php?/fo ... at-mining/

Using the above picture as an example, it looks like the company emblems are made using the emblem shape, a pattern, and then an icon. I should be able to make a mock up of ours using photoshop, I'll have a look through and see.

It looks like everything comes in Red, Blue, Purple, Green, Orange, Gold, Grey and Black. Though I find it odd they'd make whole new icons for each color instead of using a single color with a Hue transformation to get every color.

I'd opt for the snake over the fist, to be honest. Even if it's not particularly scary looking.

I'm excited to try the new bench mark! I imagine all our scores should be resonably higher with the lessened requirements of v2.0.

I'm definitely staying Lala, and I love that we can save what we choose and import it later. I'll probably tweak some settings here and there. When we lost our old voices for the new ones, Rid was given way to weird of a voice, so I really have to find a better one for that.

Whisp, I think you should get your onion head back, as for the last name, I dunno. haha.

I had always wished that I was a taru in FFXI, so I'm going to stay Lala, but I do know that gear won't look as awesome on me, which kinda sucks, but whatever.

Yeah if you could combine/resize/spin icons you could probably make a halfway decent replicable of the movie's CKD logo pretty easily.

I'm guessing we'll need a thread to show off character designs shortly... and Lalafell facial hair is .... not to my taste.

I got just ~8k on 1080p on maximum. I'll probably run something a bit under max on live since I don't want framerate hits in large fates etc, but I'm in good shape since the average frame rate on the demo was 66.7.
Now to make a character!

lol!! it's fake :smug: If you alt tab out of a fullscreen test it jumps the score and keeps going. I had to try for a while to get a somewhat believable score, I alt-tabbed right at the beginning of one test by accident and immediately went back in... it was already at 14k haha.

Would be nice if there were more gear test appearances besides Heavy armor, but guess we got to make do.

I opted for some Twilight Sparkle-esque hair colors and the one decent Miqote short hair style ( I predict this style and the various pony tailed ones to be very common). Tbh many of the options are just left on 1 since they generally looked fine to me.

I feel its an improvement over the character I made in beta anyway which you can see below

I'm still at work too, 4 more hours till I can check it out. Mine might be low since I'm the only I7 owner with no overclock.

I am not a fan of facial hair on tarus. Tarus are supposed to be little and adorable. The facial hair screws that up IMO.

Oh...and...fucka you Krellis! Btw I saw your monitor in person, and now I want one.
