Look at this log. Reber beat my Charm with Dia. King Behemoth spawned RIGHT infront of me. I couldnt even see what it was since the thing filled my screen.
Now, if someone had voked it I would have seen it.

Yeah I used to get that all the time on NM's. Its fucking bullshit. In reality Reb probably did claim it before you, beacuse of the latency, but your actions are seen first since you will of course see your own faster. |

Might be a delay on the log, hence why you see him cast after. Shit happens, hell, I had Quu Domi popped for like 5 big sec in front of me. I hammered /targetnpc, /ja provoke <t>, and it never targeted him ! |

no matter what kind of fast cast you got, spells always still have casting time whereas job abilities dont (save chainspell) |

I've had that happen to me as well when camping NMs, i think Pix is correct in saying it has to do with either ping or some sort of lag spike. A lot of time the animation actually lags the pop. But since ffxi uses memory locations to pop mobs, your charm should go off as normal even if you don't see the mob yet. Lag spikes and bad pings kill the best of us, good luck on the next hunt though. |
