well been camping this for 1 of my best ingame friends now for about 3months being 0/37(?) maybe more this jp nin who always camps it told us....

Im 0/79 btw ^^. So if the JP is right that means 21 more kills! cept I havnt been to that camp in like 3months cause it's boring as hell.

I don't even think it's really worth it. TH seems to be so damn random in effectiveness that I swear it doesn't even work most of the time.

lol every1 expects to notice TH2s effectiveness immediatly, it takes a while to notice its effect its maybe a 15% increase on drops if so less but i notice this alot in rolanberry fields w/farming threads/cuttings

Yeah, this shit is retarded. Most of the time, the NM isn't even camped by THFs but by NINs, RNGs, etc. who want to sell for gil. Needs to be tagged RARE/EX. The JP player in your pic actually has a 75THF but is camping as NIN for claiming.

yup exactly. it's such a rare drop it should be rare/ex. Same with Ebow I think. Th1 2 3 4 5million or w/e is just random. I see TH as just being an added % for the drop. As if everyone in your pt gets a /random for an item to drop and every level of Th adds an imaginary person to your pt. And yeah what kay said. Who cares if he's jp or w/e. They dont know everything about the game and even SE wont tell anyone how TH works so I doubt he knows. TH effects all drops. to say it doesnt work on Sozu is like saying it doesnt work on Kirin :roll: And yeah it's annoying to see ninjas and rangers camping it but heh w/e.

I know people who got it in 2 kills and then theres people who are 50+ with no such luck. Aside from Yagudo necklaces and Beehive Chips i really dont see much of a difference in drops with TH2

I've found that treasure hunter+ really helps in dynamis.. but maybe it's just my imagination. I had one dynamis.. we had a thf with like every piece of th+ gear on, and it seemed like every kill he made, another piece of af would drop.

But it's just another one of those ffxi secrets that no one will ever know the real answers to and just continue to bicker about over internet forums for all eternity

thats amusing because I have seen a post by someone whose set up an all BLM dynamis LS and they brought along 2 thf's just cause. One with Thiefs knife and one without.

When they went the only AF to drop were 2 assassin's bonnets. They said the only thing they noticed was an increase in singles dropping.

That and from what I understand Treasure Hunter doesnt help with rare/ex items.

then again its all friggin hearsay.

It's just that there's too many factors to consider (time, day, moon phase, number of folks in the zone, time you've been in zone, equipment, etc etc, prolly a bunch of factors no one's ever even considered before) to ever come up with undisputable results about how it helps if it all, I personally have noticed an increase in normal items in regular zones, and I do believe it to help with nm/hnm/dynamis drops, but that's more speculation and my experience than based on any kind of hard evidence.
