lol nice Kio. Here you go Panther. I checked and this RAM will work with that MSI motherboard. It's very highly rated and cheap. 8 GB (2 X 4GB) 240 pin DDR3. Only $50. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231311 |

Post subject: | Re: Upgrading my computer, suggestion? |
It means it supports 1066 and 1333 speeds of RAM - and you have to overclock to get RAM to speeds of 1600 or 2133. If you want RAM at 1600 or 2133, just buy those speeds and you may have to trick your motherboard to recognize those speeds in BIOS (it will probably recognize them as 1333). I wouldn't overclock 1333 to 1600 or 2133. I missed this one! 8 GB @ 1600mhz for $58 and comes with a 4GB memory stick (limited time offer). Get this instead of the other one I posted. That's much better for only $7 more. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428 Honestly you won't need anything faster than 1600mhz RAM. You wouldn't notice it. But if you want, you could overclock it to 2133 (I wouldn't). |

So you want me to just get the ram at 1333 first one you picked or 2nd one that is 1600 but can run it at 1333? |

lol it's Panther not Nayoz. Panther I'd get the 1600 since it's only $7 more. When you install it, your PC "might" only recognize it as 1333 but you can make a change in BIOS to make it recognize it as 1600. |

Only thing I am worry about is do I have to reinstall my old HDD due to Raid-0 is on 2x320gb setup on old board. Will new board recognize the Riad-0 setup? if not then I will have to reinstall of that of shit lol. |

Can you be a little more specific? Is it like powering down? Not booting? Booting but running into an error? |

One thing you could try is putting everything together on cardboard and see if it starts up. Sounds like you might have a short somewhere. |

Dmitry wrote: One thing you could try is putting everything together on cardboard and see if it starts up. Sounds like you might have a short somewhere. I did that already and still did the same thing as I removed video card for another known good video card also memory, and cpu. Still ended up the same deal so MB was bad, it's first time I got a bad board when I buy something new. When I got others in past, They never give me problems until I upgrade or last one just died on me which is rare for me to happen. |

Hopefully you have better luck with your next board! I'm starting a new build myself (also with I7 2600k). I'm interested to see how you like it. That processor is amazing. I've been researching Z68 boards and it sounds like a lot of people have problems with them. From every manufacturer. It's making my decision difficult. I'm staying the fuck away from ASUS, I know that haha. |
