Well nothing is wrong with your opinion. The only problem with your opinion if you don't have experience with Monk and various sub jobs is facts. Such as an earlier post where someone stated
Quote:
*maybe* 1 extr tp per cycle.
So since I have spent alot of time with /war and /sam I will state some facts.
I'll start with the attributes. Now I have merits in h2h but none in attributes so these will be base attributes for 75MNK Elvaan.
/WAR /sam
str=75 str=73
dex=67 dex=67
vit=73 vit=75
agi=53 agi=51
int=46 int=47
mnd=66 mnd=67
chr=59 chr=60
Now war has 2 more str and a +10 att job trait so /war with have 11 more attack and /sam has 9 more def. Asuron fists is based upon 50% str and 50% vit so you arent losing anything there for that ws.
Now on to my opinion. I think you should use /war until you get lvl 75. Because its safe and you will get into parties easier. Then after you get a few merits and some endgame gear, try out /sam. Personally I love this subjob. And through experiance I can tell you that I get alot more tp per cycle. I get double the tp per cycal than I do with /war. I will always take my /sam to KRT unless a whiny bitch who doesnt know any better cries about it, then I just take /war. With /sam there is no slowdown in the pt at all. And starting a fusion sc and ending that same sc with light is just fun as hell.
Another thing I've found useful with /sam is on gods. Alot of monks swear by /whm in sky but that isn't your only option. I mean you can get a 1600dmg chi blast so you can brag and have a cute little sig to show people how "uber" you are but you leave out the part about getting owned right after and wasting all the whms mp and getting them owned in the process. With /sam in sky I do a modest 700-1000dmg chi blast. It's not bad extra damage for the alliance and it's usually not gonna make the mob go all kill crazy.
Another thing I like about it is the versitility. If we don't have enough melee for sc then I can throw on melee gear and step right in without missing a beat. And I have no problem with keeping up with the other melee in tp. This is especially useful for Faf since I only have to hit him a few times. Then just disengage, meditate, and wait for the other melee to be ready.
Basically you should try them all and see what is more fun for YOU. And fuck what everyone else thinks.
Holy wall of text batman. Fuck it, I'm not gonna check for grammer. :P
