I have almost 500 with equipment at level 57, base is around 400 I think because I don't get that much MP+ equipment, lol. Just rings and belt.

Yea I know its clearly not xp gear but even so I can't see how you'd ever bridge that gap lol. I've only seen one other galka rdm, he was less then impressive. Cue long unrelated and pointless story:

We were xping in Dragon's Aery mid fafnir window on those spider things, he was meleeing for crap ass damage and generally being shit. We put up with it because was nothing else around to replace him with and party was working well despite, until tank took two sickle slashes in one fight and died. Without sounding angry the tank said

"ya know, if it wasnt for your sword swings that don't really contribute much, that mob probs wouldnt have had TP to kill me like that" Then the rdm warped lol.

End long unrelated and pointless story. I just get scared of galka rdms with melee gear lol.

It works very well. I've been solo'n dc crabs/em-t scorps in kuftal, as well, dc bats/worms/em beetles/em-t scorps in KRT since 65. I use defender + phalanx + bio II, when bio wears, I sleep and heal. The hardest mob I solo'd was a t+ thf gob in LoO, off from the Ose room.

I know I cant out damage pure DD's in xp, however it does stand that I can get high attack as RDM, and I dont have all the melee gear I want.

My base attack without buffs (with latent triggered) is 326. And, as for tanking, I half-tanked ZM4, as well, I tanked sea horror dow about half until the sam and Kaze ws'd. I can take the hits, I just dont have the enm+ to keep hate.

And yes, this is my side project....(Bored RDM)..

Mik, the only thing is, Cham doesn't use this kinda crap when it counts, so cut him some slack. lol, in actual exp parties he's not claiming RDM/WAR is more viable than RDM/WHM or RDM/BLM. lol, he's just experimenting.

your wasting yoru time on the enhancing sword, if you want to do damage as a rdm in pure sword damage output buff up in full attack.
RDM have decent str but the attack is horible which makes us hit for low to none (if you hit). Str won't do you any good really cause it's rare for rdm to hit, and to hit the maximum curve your STR all

my rdm had 458 Attack with DRK sub and just last resort and mithkabob and full attack equip anywhere i could. i was too lazy to lvl war.

btw dont melee in exp, unless you have as much or more mp than a decently geared hume/mithra rdm, stay back and save your mp and do us all a favor.

you're wasting your time with that whole gear setup. If the sword is yours, sell it and buy some HQ elemental staves, seriously. And get a joyeuse.

Do you ppl not see the 3 or 4 posts pointing out this is not xp gear? lol. Joyeuse is a few levels away yet too.

HQ staves aren't worth it unless you're loaded. +5% more magic damage, and a slight less chance of resist from spells of that element really isnt worth it, especially when there's 8 elements, and each HQ staff is 3-5mil.

I'm a 63 BLM and im sticking to my NQ staves tyvm

Not worth it for blm? I don't think any other piece of gear will help with your damage more than HQ staves. Maybe not so much rdm, but for blm they are like golddust. 5% extra on a spell that can do 1k is quite a lot. Compared to buying 2 snow rings that will add 10 extra damage..
