Damn. that is crazy. I have 20 mil, and I thought I was doing okay for a non-crafter. Also, the +74 mind is pretty epic, if not completely over-powering. haha.

I just hope they balance this game around encounters with players who have one piece of optimal materia equipped per gear slot, so that people who do stuff like this get the benefit. I fear for a system in which encounters won't be passable unless you have 4 materia equipped per slot, causing major materia/cash grinding.

20 mil is definately doing ok. I'm pretty sure the game will stay balanced for people to do well with 1 materia in the proper slot. Slotting 5 tier III+IV materia is a game for the rich crafters.

I don't really doubt the gil, but I doubt the image itself.

How do you have 20 mil and not be a crafter? I'm a pauper and I do goldsmithing.

crafting was such a gil sink. i have 10mil but would probably have 15mil if i didnt bother with crafting

When I crafted, I gathered materials. I had every class 20+ back before it was cool! </indieridere> So I had a lot of mats from gathering classes and such.

I also pretty much never bought fancy things on the AH. I farmed the mats and made my own gear, but I think a huge part of it was the gil we got from doing guildleves. All those broken water leves that we would all link together in big parties back in the day really brought in a lot of gil.

I always like playing the "supplier" more than the big crafter. Sure, it may appear on the surface that they make lots of gil off high end sales of finished products sold to individual players. I find more success having frequent, smaller sales amongst several customers.

Which is why I'm probably one of the few nutters out there that enjoys running out and grinding botany and the other HELM stuff just for fun.
Also, its more fun to go traveling about gathering items than it is to sit in town and play the crafting mini game to death.

Kio, I've always been a large quantity, less profit person, too. I just never was competitive enough to make the big-ticket items and then try to sell them against other people doing the same. I'd rather just farm my beehive chips and vegetable seeds.

or yarr being an elf has way too much Axe body spray on and kio is choking on the smell.
