I was surfing some FFXI forums today and noticed several threads about Gil Farmers keeping claims on NMs for 24hrs! WTF? Here's an example from Allakhazam.

I'll keep the background story as short as possible. Decided to try and get Morion Tathlum, camped for over 4 hours and the worm did not die once. A small group keeps the Morion worm claimed and alive at all times. The other campers there informed me they've had that same worm for at least 24 hours.

I paged a GM he said that there is no rule against holding a mob. When I asked him if there was somewhere I could write where something could be done, he suggested I write to Service Support>Support>Comment & Suggestions>etc. and suggest a change in the rule, Sorry I don't remember the exact location.

Anywho, you send the e-mail through pol, I figure if enough people do this maybe they'll change the rule so the GMs can step in. So I'm asking that everyone take a few minutes in pol before they log into the game, and write a short e-mail about it. My thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to do this.

This makes a lot of sense to me now. I observed Lexy and co. doing this a couple weeks ago. I was doing my THF AF atm and saw lexy + 3 other gilfarmers standin around with the jelly claimed. I really didn't think too much about it at the time. Now I understand wtf they were doing... they were holding claim to drive all the other campers away... :x

They're might not be a rule against holding a monster, but there's no rule agaisnt MPK if gilfarmers don't know how to call a GM.

There should be a rule.. If any one person holds an NM for 1 hour without attacking or "Trying" to kill it you can MPK them.

That would be rather interesting. I can see it now lol. Walk up to a gilfarmer..."O-K TIMES UP MPK!!!!!!" hahaha!

Just MPK them if that is ever a problem. The 2 gil farmers that camp Morion Worm 24-7 are Aoyang and Randoy. I use to camp it a lot but had a very hard time once them 2 showed up. You'll have to pull a tough mob to them but it's doable. They often go afk after killing morion worm until it's time for the ??? to spawn. I pulled 1 of the lvl~75 jammer leeches that are in the side cave mid way through the tunnel and got all the other leeches in the tunnel to link. Hardest part is getting it out of that first tunnel area. There is a certain extend it can go until it loses aggro which is not very far out of the room they are in normally. Once you get them out of this "aggro loss perimeter" you will not lose hate. Then I'd seek out the gil farmer and cast sleepga next to them and escape. I'd re-enter to see them lying on the ground with a face full of dirt /hurray. Lol I have too much free time and patience for this. I really hate those f-kers
