A friend of me and Aalan that used to play FFXI on Ifrit (Multani) actually plays Lineage II. It is all PvP, and there is no PVE or RP servers. PvP is mostly outside of towns and there is a chance when killed you will drop your gear and get ganked by the person who killed you. The chance that you drop the gear is really low, but still it can happen. He thinks this game is as good as FFXI and he didn't like WoW. Really Lineage II has a screwy economy like FFXI, and almost everyone goes solo rather than partying. You can run two instances of Lineage II on a PC at once, so my friend Matt takes his character and uses his other friend's level 55 mage/buffer character and powerlevels himself.
The game is massive PvP though... the castle raids are pretty big (yes even compared to WoW) as there are like 9 servers total or less. The servers don't seem to be really crowded, and the game isn't really laggy either. The graphics are top notch from what I have seen, but my problem is that you move with the mouse initially. In Lineage II you take either Fighter or Mystic as your first 2 initial choices for your first 20 levels. After level 20 you choose a advanced type job based on your initial choice. After level 40 you choose your prestige job. I think the max level is 75 and it is a huge grind like FFXI.
The game is Korean and I don't know whether they seperate servers or not but I don't see anyone not speaking English on his server and I know there is nothing like a auto-translate function. The original Lineage was the most popular MMO in Korea. I don't like this game basically because it seems to be all looks and no substance from watching Matt play the game. Everything seems to be ridiculously expensive and the mount he has is slower than him running (which is retarded). I don't like the problem of being ganked by a level 75 character at level 20 and losing a expensive hard to farm for item either (as happened to my friend). [/code]
