Hey, anyone seen previews and trailers for this movie? It looks pretty good. It is coming from people behind the awesome Ring. However, because of that, it features creepy kids and vegeful spirits. Only where Ring had Samara come from a well and a videotape, and The Grudge had the cat boy and his mom come from a spooky haunted house, here they come from "dark" water(or otherwise, polluted LOL). But, something you almost never see in horror movies is an Academy Winning Actress: Jennifer conley. Plus, she's still pretty hot. Well, I'm looking forward to it. Anyone else? lol XD

There's a series of movies like that already in Japan. Ju-on(sp?) I believe is the series main title. The US film industry remakes them for us over here.

ju-no is the orginal "The Grudge" what the grudge was based off of and built on, im not sure if its a series tho i have the ju-no movie

Apparently, there are four movies in the Ju-on series. The Grudge is number three.

The Grudge (NA version) was more of a mix of (if I recall) 2 or 3 of the JP Juon movies.

I watched the original Japanese version of Dark Water recently and that was really creepy shit! Not seen US version yet, probably never will because I'm not a big fan of American remakes.
Asia really is the master of terror, with great movies like this one, Ju-on, Ringu, Audition, A tale of two sisters and more!

And yes, The Grudge is a remake of the Japanese Ju-On: The Grudge. Then again the Japanese version was a remake of the earlier Ju-on: The Curse, which was a 2 episode straight to video TV series.
