Hack as been around a long time. I made a post a while back about some hacker who confessed to doing it.

It works by changing some bit in memory which fools the client into thinking you're on a chocobo, so it renders you on one and you run at chocobo speed. This isn't known to the server so everyone else just sees a player running really fast.

The player needs to turn their hack on and off to mine points tho, because otherwise they'll get the "You cannot perform that command while riding a chocobo." message.

oh yeh! the one where the guy claimed to fish up gold beds that he then sold to npcs for ridiculous ammounts of money or something right?

At the time i remember a lot of folks saying how it couldn't be real for this or that reason and his SSs were probably modified thorugh some graphics editor. I guess it's real ; ; I hope more hacks don't start showing up cuz that would suck.. man ppl always have to come along and ruin everything good for other folks.

Ive read a few things that beat just hacking speed. You can teleport anywhere in a zone with a program. Basically if youve ever noticed how when you start to R0 and keep running if you get back up to R100 or w/e you will be where you ran to... not where you started to d/c. Basically the program tells the server your d/cing and that you moved to (x,y,z) cords.

you can't enter the city, but once inside if you turn it on you are set.
And yes the program to do said things is fairly simple. Just know what data string pops up when you are on a chocobo, where it is, copy said string, use a memlock editor, place said string anywhere you want it, and go. The other one is easy to use with a bandwidth lagger. You can run through CN with a level 1, and not catch aggro. A mix of the two bots is sometimes (note rarely) used in NM/HNM claims. Data comes through saying where it's about to spawn, you get the warning so and so in 15 seconds, hit your throttler, input the x,y,z settings, then just tell the servers you have claim. Remember you have to be there for it to work so it's not illegal... god I hate that interview.

that's kinda funny i remember hearing about this crap back when ffxi was first released to NA. i always wondered how ppl would tell the difference between it and just a person using flee. i dont see it becoming too big of a problem if the idea's been around this long and i still havent seen much of it
