Cutting lines...

wow - for a game that's supposed to be second (third) generation MMORPG, they took a HUGE step back into the stone age.

I've seen both sides and since the community repercussions are very few and far between in FFXI - (ie: KFC vs. NA on land gods..) - we're a great server of what I used to call carebears. We solicit a larger community base to play (read: pay), however, when people decide to cut lines once, they're all going to do it. Hell if you started to cut on me, I'd return the favor. Irl, I'd probably have a nice talk with you about it.

Whatever, play nice, don't play nice, it won't change much as the LS leadership either supports it, turns a blind eye to it, or discourage it.

Since it's the CKD forum, I'll use this example.
I'd be very surprised to see anyone from CKD booted from the LS over this.

Think about it this way...
If you worked in the emipire state building in manhattan, and theres about 10,000 workers in that building. Wouldn't it be simply moronic to build just one bathroom for the entire 100+ floor building...
Of course people are going to cut in line..

Mikey, you can't compare this game with a fictional 100 floor building with only 1 bathroom.
This is a quest that you have to do only once and you have all the time in the world to get it done so if you can't handle waiting in line just come back later when the hype is over.
A 100floor Empire State building with only 1 bathroom would work perfectly if people would only have to use the bathroom once in their life and would be able to hold it up forever.

This thread isn't about coming up with unrealistic scenarios where cutting line would be ok. The OP just tries to tell people how rude it is to cut line when everyone else is playing it fair and waiting there turns.

This thread is pointless. Everyone knows cutting in line is un-ethical - obviously certain people dont care. Is bitching about it going to change something? Nope. The empire state building isn't fictional lol. I'm just trying to point something oblivous. The fact , that the way they designed this quest is extremely poor. How many people can this server handle at once? I'm betting over 1k. How could they not have expected people to start gathering to do this quest?. Even if it was just 20 people waiting its still absurd..

We all know how it is when you want to get something and you want to get it now. I don't blame talisin or ckd for wanting to get this done..

Also really now how many times do we have to put up with waiting on line irl? The DMV just so i can get my learners took 6 hrs of waiting.. To buy that gay ass harry potter book for my sister took 40 mins..

Why should we have to wait in line in a digital game that WE... WE pay for to do some stupid quest. Its absolutely absurd

Let me tell you a story about Francine Dee and how I got kinda pissed at her.

So I use to work in this import show company, I basically took pictures of kiddie import models and dj whatever right. So that time we were working with fraincine dee I think it was in Orlando. After the show we were just all chilling at the hotel, everyoen was at the swimming pool hanging out. I went down there late without my swimming gear and was just gonan chill and watch them swim and shit. They all keep asking me to strip down and go swim with them whatever I didn't want to.

So Francine and another model girl came up to me. Francine had one of those life saving hoop thing around her, and was like, hey can you help me I can't get this shit off me. Woman was tryign to pull the shit above her through her boobies or something (Which was impossible, I don't think I need to explain why). I was like why don't you try to take it off pushing it down through ur legs. By this time I was suspicious. And I was right, cus the next thing I know she and the other girl pushed me down to the pool. Along with my wallet, cell phone. Basically I had to buy a new phone because I didn't have insurance on that phone.

Aparently I wasn't the only one that got tricked and dump into the pool.. However I was the only one with my cell and stuff went down with me.

To quote Whisp, standing in line in a game isn't retarded. If only 1 person at a time can do the fight it seems only natural to me that lines are formed. Those who get there sooner than you have the fullest right to get in the fight before you.

Okay, obviously some of you guys are hijackers (assholes =p)
so let me recap the original point of this thread.

Talisin cut in line to go first in the BCNM for the quest, some random
dude came here and asked why, people flamed him because they
think its idiotic to wait as a first come first go basis.
In the meantime some of us who think waiting in line is not only
a polite thing to do, but only fair for others even though its a waste.

Then we went into a few points as to why its idiotic to wait and why not.

This thread isnt really about how rude tal might have been, or who will get kicked out
of ckd for cutting in line. Lets be realistic here, nothing really changes
anything and i'm sure people have already forgotten about what
happened. So it makes no difference really, i dont think any of us
here give a shit if you in line or not, but just for a conversations sake.

Mikey, you're exemple really doesnt fit this occasion, but i do understand
what you are saying, even though if you did cut in line in you're
example, you wouldnt get fired, but if i was in that line, i'd make sure
that you wouldnt be able to walk after you came out of that bathroom.

It might seem silly to wait, but if everyone else is waiting in line and you
cut, not only you're making them wait longer, you are only putting more
wood into the fire. I heard someone say in these boards once that we
NA's should team up and be more of a family and stick together, but
that would never happen if there isnt a share of respect amongst us all.

Do what you want of course, its just my thoughs on the situation.
