My favorite I think would rest with Zell, he was such a loveable dork.

Not as bad as Selphie or whatever the hell that girl's name was in ffviii.

I'd have to say Cecil in the chronicles version of ffiv, not the watered down translation for snes.

My vote would have to go to Rydia from FFIV. She was pure power unleashed. To my knowledge she was the only character in any FF game who both mastered black magic and summons.

To be able to cast Meteo one round and summon Bahamut the next round is pretty sweet. After Rydia, summons became retarded things anyone could summon based upon how you equipped them, and then they eventually became tools used by white mages.

So Rydia was the first and last great offensive magical powerhouse in any FF game in terms of chocies of attacks.

I'd love to see a Rydia-like character in a new version of an FF game. Some child prodigy who can just kick everyone's ass. And that puss of a character Eiko, or whoever, from FFIX doesn't count. :p
