Mikey as far as HDTVs go, defintely make sure you research them before you buy them. Also Yarr if you haven't checked this out already you might want to think about this

It's a very nice DVD for configuring different audio and video setting for HDTVs. My parents are building a new house in New Orleans and I've been helping my dad plan his 'media room' so I've been doing a lot of research on home theater rooms and TVs and such and a lot of people recommend this DVD.
I finally got my Xbox360 in on Dec 16. I got the premium(the one with the HD and all the other stuff). I also picked up Madden06, Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham 3, and XboxLive. First off, I'm at my parent's house for the holidays and they don't have a HDTV so I haven't had much time to play on one yet. I brought it over to a relatives house and he has an older big screen rear projection HD only capable of 480p. But even at 480p it did look excellent. Personally I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Yes it cost a lot but I haven't bought a console since the SNES lol.
As far as the game list goes, yea I will agree the launch list was fairly weak. Perfect Dark Zero has been quite an enjoyable game, I haven't tried it online yet as I like to try and finish the campaigns before I take my gaming online. PGR3 has a very nice solo career and online career mode. Lots of cars to collect and things like that, and the walkthrough garage mode with the cars you buy looks absolutely stunning on HD. Madden, to me, was the biggest disappointment. No fantasy draft when you start a franchise, no minicamp, and lots of other things gone from it as well. Gameplay is pretty solid though but still some gay bugs. Like for instance a fumble and you have two of your guys around the ball on the ground running in place like they are against an inivisible wall. Lame, but its an ok game.
As far as the future of Xbox360, I personally think it looks quite good. Here's a couple games to check out that I think will be excellent:
Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion - This game looks amazing in all aspects(graphics, sound, gameplay, replay value, depth). I think it comes out in Feb, not sure though.
Gears of War - Halo is the best console shooter ever, but if any console shooter is to challenge it, it won't be PS's KillZone, I think it will be Gears of War. This one I think comes out in July.
Mass Effect - An RPG in the mold of Knights of the Round. The would in this game is in a futuristic setting and is supposed to be extremely deep and involved. Its made by Bioware and they know how to make solid games.
Huxley - An upcoming MMORPG. I haven't read too much about it, but the little bit I have read seems positive. I started a thread about D&D online, but I may bypass D&D and just start up the MMORPG scene again with Huxley. Its from a Korean developer called Webzen. Its an interesting twist on the whole MMO genre as its basically a FPS with lots of RPG type elements. I think this is going to be released on PC as well.
Blue Dragon - This is made by SE's own Hironobu Sakaguchi. Not much info on gameplay or release date but this will be an RPG. For those fans of the airship, the trailers have shown a few nice models of airships in this one.
Lost Odyssey - This is the other RPG planned from Sakaguchi. This one is a LOT farther off than Blue Dragon and really hasn't come along much, but at least you can see Microsoft trying to get more of the imported JP type RPGs on the console.
If anyone is on Xbox Live lemme know so I can add you to the friends list.
