Stuff like this makes me wish that you could have private servers in FFXI, how cool would it be to just have a big group of your friends on the server that you can just all get together and be like "Hey guys let's go see if Nidhogg popped from the Fafnir we killed yesterday." I think that would be so much fun with little to no competition, it would just be all about strategy.

Strategy also involves working with what you have dynamically. If you could wait around till you had the perfect job setup to tackle the NM, would take alot of strategy out of it. This setup wins... done. Of course a little more than that, but you get what I mean.

I think there is a challenge in sending what you have at it and attempting to form or realize what kind of sync you have with your team-mates, almost regardless of their jobs. Th ability to think, and not just do.

Yeah Keston I agree, that's kinda what I'm saying, basically not a server that's about who has the fastest bot or who buys the most gil lol. That's my dream.

What to say?

When staff goes bad...

In the last 12 months and large impacts from my eyes relating to staff.

Vaelan retires and deletes his character and throws away all his equipment.
UltimaJ has a firesale quitting and selling all his stuff for 1 gil and turns over his account to someone outside FS.
Poptart has left the game.
Dustdevil is dealt out of the LS and turns in an accusation of botting to everyone. (yet to see the screenshots with names, item pending)
Arnwulf left due to irresolvable conflicts and then retires a short time later.
Taquito has left the game.
Salvatore has left the game.

Current Staff.

Kilik - current commander in chief with a handful of problems corrupted from the inside out. Doing best he can - event attendance is up and the people coming for the most part aren't the ones listed in these posts. They're the good people still wanting to play a game.
Chanalix has discovered an irl and is quasi-retired from LS/HNM event situations.
Misharu - good old Texas now works for a living instead of playing FFXI for a living.
and the 3 new folks.
myself, Ladislav and Myskhal.

No excuses. The accusations are harsh and looked to be isolated. We still have another 45 people that are good and honest players that actively bash / demean "the l33t hack" of the day, whatever it is.

It's a sad series of events for anyone associated with FS. The members are still good people, much of the trouble and problems stems from the top down. With the expulsion of Dustdevil and cutting off the forums attached with the cleansing posts, we see everyone's true colors and motivations.

Anyways, more to come I'm sure. That link on the website is there and only UltimaJ or Vaelan can remove it as no one has administrator rights anymore.

THe selling stuff like that was retarded i do agree lol. However how it is bad for j handing his account to me? With all due respect... I've treated his account fairly. I've used it to help me with the war of the upgrading which is working.... I can't even say how much j's actually helped me by letting his use character. Which btw... He still has access to because i've never changed the passwords. I even offered to continue to pay for his account and let him run around anywhere he wanted to. If he wanted to come back and go to fs. He could do so, absolutely free too lol. So i don't see how him handing his character to me was a problem to anyone. I was even decent enough to talk to people from fs. Staff members atm and explained to them what was going on. I threw out any pearls he had because i have and STILL do have respect for chana and her crew which is now kilik and crew but whatever. I still give respect nonetheless

i don't think anyone thinks you're handling the account inappropriately...i'd guess that's not what alps is talking about..i know many in FS have a great deal of respect for you Mikey.

what alps was really getting at is that J is one of the ex FSers who lurked in the linkshell only/staff only forums and just stirred up drama...i have to say i usually enjoy a good UltimaJ post, but i don't think his continued involvment with the shell was good for us...and that would be categorized as "bad" as alps was saying...

but i guess alps could clarify that better than me if i'm wrong.

I respect you a tonne Mikey and it's no disrespect to you at all.

Some other members - perhaps following suit with staff members, have also left the shell in similar firesale / dropping fashion which hurts every shell a little each time it happens. J's the first I had ever seen do that and him being staff, I was a little surprised. To turn around and pass the account to a trusted friend isn't the issue, it's that the character is still in the game under another shell. Even a R/E equipped only 75THF is still an asset depending on the situations at hand.

Hope that makes sense. Just significant staff moments was all I was trying to make out.

well I'm so glad I don't play a broken game anymore, I miss the people and even the good times, but I played on ps2pidity (no haxxors) and only log on when I have time to give stuff away (contests). Thank God for IRL. And yea, this is my biggest shout out I can possibly give, its no longer fuck any LS, no longer fuck IGE, it's fuck SE for letting it all happen. ^^ After all it was their game and they let it become the piece of shit game that it now currently is, thank God I'm quittin' before that expansion can take any more $$$. I think I may play WoW, either that or it will be a long long time before I pick up another MMORPG, if ever lol.
