i stumbled across the mages guild in skingrad. NW part of town. i basically made that my hometown for now. although i dont have a home. i just rest in the mages guild. i escorted martin after i found the guild.

this is my character: a battlemage orc, with 3 magics (white magic, black magic, and alteration), also heavy armor, armor repair, shield, and blunt weaponry.

orc has some great combat stats, magic resistance, plus berserk. i balanced it with selecting mage focus and "the lady" sign. it works great so far.

so im at a friends house (wouldnt run on my comp) and i played it, played for about an hour or more through the tutorial and first part, i kinda feel like its overrated. Beutiful yes, fun well yes, but not the reincarnation of jesus and buddahs child.

I don't think this game is fun, glad I just downloaded because I wont play more than 10 hours.

Single player game are nice at time, but I find the world awfully empty. You can walk 20 minutes without seeing any bird, monster or animal. Graphic are good in many area, but at time, they can become repetitive quite fast (ie: mountain).

I think battle could use more strategy too. Maybe it will change as my charater level, but I hate the lack of option or skill

The Good:
Eye candy. Lots of different things to do. Many different chars choices. Fast travel, clicky on the map to warp. Mobs difficulty changes with char progression (wolfs get harder but to piss SoE off they make crabs allways suck). Forts mines and such respawn with new harder mobs.

The Bad:
My beef with the game is it crashes a ton on my system. Not alot of monsters in open areas. Fighting more then 2 monsters can be a pain in the ass sometime. It takes forever for fighters to kill ghost mobs (resist weapons). You cant repair magic armor till lvl 50 arm skill. Gear goes to shit after like 5 mobs. Recharging weapons with stones all the time is kinda lame. Crafting... yeah right... Obv. gates are just about all the same. Mobs that have knock back and stun and use it just about every hit, is very annoying.

Questions:
My question is there ever anything to spend gold on. I got ~30k and am yet to see anything decent to buy. Also, anyone find any merchants that dish out more then 1.2k for an item Anyone do the vampire quest, i skipped it and never went back... and my char has been doin just fine not being a vampire...

Tips:
Talk to peeps and make them happy, then they tell you stuff. Know the blue rocks in the forts (used as lights). Take em and use for mana (or sell for quick $). Win the glad tourney, nice prize. Spend $ on hammers, get the arm craft skill up asap so u can fix ur magic armor. If u got a train of mobs on ya just run to any town and the towns people gather round and fight the mobs.

Punch someone and train him in front of a guard for better effect They will kill the guy and you can loot him after.


You can also steal some vendor and sell them back all their shit after. I thought it was funny to take the guy book and sword, and make 50gold
5 sec after selling them back to him.

My greatest stupid hiest was the Pale pass quest. Some countess sends you to the Akarvi ruins of Pale Pass to get this necklace.

You give her the neckalce and she puts it in a display case behind her.

Simply sneak and go behind her and take it back, and wear it cause its fairly uber. Not to mention there was a single guard in the place at night so I robbed the rest of the displays too.

haha there are some funny things to do in the game. One great bug i found was if ur on a steep hill u cant get up look to the sky and hold up and A or D and u can run around cliffs without falling. I call it wall humping and it gets me stuck in some wierd spots. Also keep hittin jump while runnin up big hills and sometimes u can make it up without walking around the mtn.
