If there's one thing good about me, it's being able to memorize things. I know at least a handful of words from many different languages, some I could even make very simple conversations with. But the only languages my school offers is French, Latin, and Spanish. And since 95% of people take Spanish, the Spanish teachers thinks that gives them the right to be serious fuckhats, plus, I don't like Spanish; at all. Latin doesn't interest me, and French... just wasted time if I took that up.

This is going to make me sound like a serious weaaboo, but I'd actually like to learn Japanese. I've tought myself a lot of words and what not, but most of them can't be put into sentences together to make sense. But basically, one day I want to travel to Japan, and I don't want to have to carry a pocket dictionary with me. And I also don't really enjoy teaching it to myself. It works, but it's boring.



For a hermit FFXI loser like I am, I'm really good at sports. I won't get into details about this, but I basically hate sports with a fucking passion.

Its the shit Ketrebu brings up that makes me wish I had more friends that knew more than what a fucking cookie is on browsers. "Cain and Abel" jesus christ, haha. I just wish I knew where to start about learning shit like that. I'm really interested in IT security and programming, although I don't know a single person in my age group in the greater state of North Carolina that would share my interests.



And your right in assuming that Ket. I remember this poor bastard would go around, disablding Deep Freeze, installing software and updates, then reenabling Deep Freeze on each computer in the labs, or at least thats what I thought he was doing. They had it at my high school.

I just hate how a lot of places like schools or other public services to learn spanish because of the huge influx of mexicans and other spanish speaking people that won't learn english.

They shouldn't "have" to learn spanish to communicate for their job, but its nice to know another language and try to communicate with people in their most comfortable language, especially if you are providing a "service".

If you provide a service, its always in your best intrest financially and customer service wise to make the "consumer" as comfortable as possible, just because immigrants learn english doesn't mean they will be more comfortable with it. I'm not against the whole english thing, because its not hard to learn another language if you acutally try.

And they should learn english, but at the same time excluding their language from society because we have our version of lazy people who don't like learning another language is stupid also.

Whose lazyness is right and whose it wrong? Neither, they are both idiotic. I'm a firm believer in always learning and improving yourself.

Besides if you want to get in the pants of one of my peoples, knowing some spanish won't hurt your chances with our fine ass women.

meh the language thing wasnt so much an idea to be useful, just something challenging and maybe interesting to do. it does however look good to employers, non acadamic things such as this can really impress prospective bosses, regardless of what language it actually is or if it's even going to be useful in the company.

I'm not saying we shouldn't learn spanish, just that we shouldn't have to for our jobs. My boss put the numbers 1 to like 50 in spanish to try and help lol. I know that learning a language to help make the customers more comfortable is always appreciated, and if I had time and cared about my job I would do it, but since it won't directly benefit me in the future meh.
