Yeah I didnt like the design of it at first but it follows the Warcraft style.

I wouldnt really call it an "american" style of drawing. Its very cartoony and if anything theres a very eastern feel too it also. Small characters and large weapons. Half the characters look like Cloud running around with 1h sword bigger than his body.

Come back to me with that arguement when you realized how much time you and I have spent Pressing this button * and then waiting for your characters mp to fill. Factor in that and then moments with refresh and ballad. Trust me either way its going to be 2-3 months of us actually sitting here. I want that all back

Graphics. Hmm you know the way wow is stylized, its exactly the way it should look considering its roots. Don't now how anyone can say their so ugly when they are so animated in the first place. FF's characters use very low and muddy models. Even at high rez nothing really changes.


Character design ... Hmm i can't see that one especially when you just said you yourself skip thru all the cut scenes and text in the game anyway. Because the character designs aren't incredibly impressive. Only time i can say i've enjoyed a character was ones that aren't even in the game per say, cut scene models I.e that grey haired kid with the wings. Wow's character designs have alot of personality to them, high lvl gear looks different, something final fantasy doesn't even remotely touch.
Right now just for fun i got a new outfit. I'm a female tauran, wearing a tuxedo outfit with pigtails. I also carry a red rose on my left hand and i have a pet pig named Mr.wiggles. Gay? Yes extremely. Kinda creepy? Undeniable, Funny? yes.

These "I've heard this game sucks as an agrument". And if your scrolling thru all the cut scenes and text in general in final fantasy ( one the games Very strong Points) you obviously missed the boat on whats good about the game. Just break it down to the core. I played for my friends. And so did/are most of you.

lol its not an ignorant comment mikey. Even if the game would "Prove me wrong" I would never play it, because of it lack of a developed pet class and its character design that disgusts me. I love ffxi's character design, only I wish that there had been more character faces to choose from and more races.

" American" design was probably the wrong word, what i meant is um...dungeons and dragons -esque, you know big strong burly men with huge beards and every woman has boobs the size of titanic. That just disgusts me.

Oh and edit: i know WoW has like a BST/RnG-ish class called hunter or something where you can use pets from the wild or something, my freind says...yeah that really doesn't cut it for me lol

1) I was refuring to the beta where things did look like crap and textures were horrible. You dont remember the Female trolls? Cause I do. I also think that character design is assy in wow. Its not as bad as DAoC or EQ2, but its not as detailed and nice as FFXI. I stik by my first comment 100%

If youre trying to earn yourself another beating with the ban stick its working. I will admit I was wrong about some aspects of WoW. However I think you need to learn what a hypocrite is. Its someone who SAYS one thing and DOES the opposite. I was more ignorant towards the game. Most the things I didnt like about wow still bug me.

I dont like the PvP system. I dont like the group systems. I dont like how Zergy things are. I hate how casul the game is. I dont like the character designs (for the most part) and so on. Oh and I really hate the general player base. This probably makes me more of a hypocrite than the other stuff. Wow isnt a perfect MMORPG.

I have admited I am wrong, in so doing that I am not a hypocrite. Me sitting here and telling you I still hate the game and that Ill never play it, while secretly playing it... now that would make me a hypocrite.

not really gonna get too deep into the topic(read the first five, lol) but I believe the reason WoW went off so fast and well was mainly due to the anticipation. wasn't blizzard saying they'd come out with WoW for like 2-3 years until they finally did? each time delaying it with some weird excuse, people just got more and more antsy about the game and wanted it right away when it came out. and probably with flaws in alot of other games(like time to put into it) WoW looked alot more pleasing. ie: Lineage/L2 is worse than FFXI used to be in leveling, such as when you got to the endgame levels it was like lv1-60 just to get to 61 and then 1-61 for 62 etc(that's what I heard atleast).

Im not a huge ffxi fan, I just play it because I havent found anything better, and I know im bashing wow for stupid reason, but hey thats just me. I honestly do play games for character design, graphics, and pets+pvp only.

WoW's design is simply, as you put it "cartoony" for me. Would never play it, for that reason alone.

Maybes its cuz im gay and I hate facial hair and big breasted women lol

WoW is probably a great game for people more into what it has to offer

I think one of the finest moments in wow. That just kills me lol. Is how priests can mind control other classes. Worst yet is when use the ability to toss them off cliffs. Or into the lava like brd lol.

Personal experience, I couldnt get into WoW either it was really boring and I stop at level 10. But then again one of the reasons I have played FF since 2003 is the party thing. I actually like that I need a group of people to complete a mission or gain a level.
