riley is btw one of the most amazing dogs i've ever seen. I'm not much of a pet person. But riley opened my eyes to how amazing it is to have a dog always by your side.

Necropost, I know, but I feel that it is justified. Anyways, two days ago my friends and I were heading to the local 7-11 to pick up some delicious slurpees with some spare change we had scrounged around for. So, on our way to the purveyor of frozen syrupy drinks we happened to pass by a pretty ratty apartment complex where one of my friends lives. We were just walking down the street when we were assaulted! Here are the culprits. I'm sorry for the poor quality, but all I had was a cell phone and it was a desperate struggle for our lives.

Karsten's got his hands full:

Zach, deep in combat:

Dustin manages to get a stranglehold on one of the bastards:

Justice is served and they are triumphantly detained:

Warning: The rest of this post isn't really that interesting. You don't have to read it.

We found six kittens in a bush behind a grocery store with no mother around. A lot of kittens are abandoned in that area. After we had called Karsten's mom to come pick these guys up some mexican guy MIKEY I'M LOOKING AT YOU came up to us and asked what we were doing, we told him and he said he was glad we spoke english (a lot of Russians live in that apartment complex and in Spokane in genereal). He talked to us about littering and how he picks up trash with his kids on the weekends and shit and how we had to get the kittens out of there or his wife would want one. After Karsten's mom showed up we rounded them up and put them in a cooler she had brought; then they were driven to Karsten's house. The next day they took them to a local animal shelter. In case anyone was curious, I didn't end up getting my slurpee that day. :(

Mythrandir, what kind of dog is that? I'm in the market for a puppy, and I think that one is cute.

I want a small dog. At first I wanted a black female pug, but I'm having trouble finding one. So now I'm looking at other dogs. Anyone have any other suggestions for cute small dogs?

Well her other dog is a great dane so this guy seems pretty small. He's 3 or 4 months old I think and his head is still just above my knee (I'm 5'6").

All of the dogs that I've had in my life have been labs. I think they make terrific dogs. They're not too big and not too small.

I don't think this really counts as a pet, but I found this in my yard.

Image

It's a cell phone picture, so it's pretty shitty- but it's basically a bunch of gelatinous, translucent spheres in a clump in my front yard. They're kind of near some mushrooms that were growing. The little spheres appear to be some sort of eggs, hopefully something cool like frogs or salamanders, but more likely something sinister- like mosquitoes or slugs. I haven't fucked with the pile, yet.
