Yeah it was really good. Violent as expected, I wasn't expecting realism or historical accuracy. The Persians were as freaky as I thought they would be portrayed.

This morning my roommate said the tickets are for Arizona Mills IMAX this weekend only (he is confusing me). It isn't playing there this weekend...(deer valley only)...so yeah. We are just gonna walk to Centerpoint one at downtown Mill sometime and see it.

I saw it at AZ Mills at 12:01am friday morning. Line was FUCKING HUGE. I think they opened up every theater to show it. It was awesome.

I'm glad I saw it on the big screen, becuase some of the images were absolutely amazing. I thought the fact that they included some fantasy and magical stuff showed that they weren't going for realism, but for creative interpretation. I appreciate that more than if they just tried to duplicate the historical facts, although that still would've been cool to watch, it just wouldn't have been art. This film is art. Not because of the script (it's based on comic book and it's pretty obvious from the dialogue), but becuase of the images.

Although I was dissappointed that I never heard the Nine Inch Nails song that was in the trailer. I was waiting on that the entire movie.

I saw 300 yesterday. I was entertained throughout the entire movie. It's definately the best movie I've seen in a long time. I'll be seeing it again soon.

I loved everything about it. I had wanted to see it for so long and my god was it awesome. I really appreciated the fact that instead of taking a "this is a realistic interpretation" stance with really fantastic violence, the entire thing was a very loose, fantasy based interpretation which allowed them to have some superhuman action scenes and awesome monsters. Yes, the dialogue was hammy, and the acting wasn't spectacular, but that was never the point. And Madison is right, this movie was every gay kid's fantasy. holyyy shittttt.


edit: and it has apparently grossed 70 million in its first weekend. wow. Now they have to make a sequel:

"You thought last year's smash 300 was coo? Well this time 150 Greeks get sent back in time to battle general sharptooth and his army of 6 million slave raptors. This november, honor, glory and raptors *booom*...150"

seeing this in a little bit. Im a huge fan of Frank Miller and every trailer I have seen of this movie has shown has shown nothing but fantastic cinematography.

By the looks of it, looks like it follows the graphic novels pretty well. I was amazed with Sin City, this shouldnt be any different.
