I don't know ho much you want/need to lose, Whisp. I started feeling a difference in my clothes pretty early on, but even when still looking in the mirror, I only see a difference in my face. I know I've lost a ton of... girth? though. haha. I just think everyone is their own harhest critic, so you don't generally see it in the mirror.

That being said, I heard you need to do it for about 45 minutes for your heart to really get a good benefit from cardio. But of course, that's all "bro science". You ask 10 different people how best to exercise, and you'll probably get 11 different "correct" answers. I figure if you're doing 30 minutes, that's 30 minutes than you were doing a month ago, or whatever, and that's all that matters.

That being said, it really is diet, not cardio. You keep downing 3000 calories a day, but start running a mile a day, you'll still be fat. You'll just be a fat dude who can run a mile. So that's why I cut calories and did cardio. haha

Without knowing your % Body fat, we can guestimate your daily calories to maintain that weight is roughly around 1980 calories. If you want to drop a pound a week, in theory, stick with a 1500 calorie diet. You can do a lot with 1500 calories.

Be honest with tracking what you eat, read the labels, drink lots of water. I track my food intake in the website myfitnesspal.com. They have smartphone apps, too, where you can scan in barcodes and such. Measure out everything, if you're making food for yourself. Guessing that you're putting 2 TBS of caesar dressing on your salad, when it's more like 4, is the stuff that really trips people up.

That being said, 6'2" and 190, if you drop another 10 pounds you may start looking rather... whispy :D If you want to cut the weight to reduce the fat, that's cool, but I bet you'd like it better if you bulked up a bit with lean body mass (muscle).

I'm in the same boat, myself. Going to work on dropping the weight first, then I'll work on toning later. I'm trying to hit 180, as well, but I'm a few inches shorter than you (5'11") ish, I'd say.

I'm 5'11" and around 180 if you want to have an idea of what it may look like Whisp. Ridere is correct about dieting being more important to losing weight, but I think weight goals are silly because you can be thin and still weigh a lot.

A little while ago I was doing a lot of running and not a lot of eating and was down to 150, but now I do a little running and more weight lifting and eating a lot. I wouldn't recommend doing it though, but more steadily work on muscle growth to become more lean and also keep up on cardio.

regarding diet, ive been on a vegan diet for 15 years, also i hardly ever eat bread. mostly just fresh or frozen veggies, nuts, beans, legumes, etc. i eat this way cause i prefer the taste and cant stand meat or cheese.

I'm wondering the same thing. I really want the pre-order stuff, but I don't want to have a second account? honestly it will probably be like the onion helm. wear it once and forget it. I guess it depends what it looks like.

SE already confirmed on their forum you can attach everything to your existing account instead of creating a new one.

In fact, that's what you have to do if you want to use your existing account on a PS3 instead of making a whole new one.

So we don't get the pre-order stuff as Legacy? I'm getting a copy for PS3 so I should still get it, but that's a little disappointing.

Correct, pre-order stuff is pre-order only (except Early Access, which Legacy gets).

In other news, I'm upgrading to SSD tomorrow, so I've been going through my drive and checking for anything I need to back up, and I found the original 1.0 FFXIV benchmark tool stuffed away in a folder. Decided to give it a run and see what my score is: 6678 High / 7186 Low. Not a big difference really, guess it's all capped out on new modern hardware. It crashed afterwards on the score screen though, lol.

A SIGHT FOR ME SORE EYES.

Careful with those SSD's Ket had a few friends who's SSD's died a few months after they ordered them but it just might be a fluke to be honest though.

Got my SSD installed no problem.

Left my old two HDDs in there, set them up as a "storage pool" in Windows 8. It's kind of like using RAID, except better, because you can move and adjust them on the fly from inside windows. Create new drives, resize drives, set each virtual drive space to a different RAID level. Want more space? Just shove more drives in or replace them; magically reshuffles all your data around without having to wipe any of it.

I swear, Windows 8 would be a great operating system if not for all the metro/tablet crap.

Which SSD did you get Ket? I've had mine installed for a year and haven't looked back. Best mod ever (next to the GTX680). I have a samsung 830 SSD on both my desktop and laptop. 0 problems. That and the intel cherryville (520 series I think?) you really can't go wrong. Reliable with a good warranty.

It's the cheap ones you want to avoid. They aren't as reliable.

I was originally looking around for an Intel one but for whatever reason couldn't find one big enough for me.

I eventually went with an OCZ one. Had nothing but good reviews, a 3 year warranty, and pretty decent (as far as I can tell) write speeds. You really gotta watch out for those write speeds, I'm amazed how many SSDs on the market aren't really much faster than a flash drive.

I got an intel SSD. I think it was only 128 GB. I forget already. possibly 256. But I knew I was going to reserve it for basically the OS and MMOs.

I bought a 3 TB secondary drive where I install most of my stuff that I'm not worried about needing something faster than 7200 RPM. So far it's worked out real well. The case I bought is huge, however, so I have tons of space for more drives, if needbe. haha.

I think you got a 256, I got a 128. I heard that Intel brands tend to fail less than others brands, hence why i got it. I have a 1tb secondary drive.

Yah, you're right. It's worked out well, I think. Except when a stupid program doesn't let you pick where you install it.

Yeah I hate that. I have some extra stuff on the SSD that I would prefer not to have. It definately requires a lot more management on your end. Before when I had everything on one big HD I never had to think or worry about that stuff.

yea I've been using SSDs for a while now with no issues. Have had two Intel 80g gen 1s running in a RAID0 config for the longest, followed by an Intel 160g gen 2 in my laptop, a Kingston in our netbook, a throwaway ADATA in our TV PC, a Samsung in Pam's PC and an Intel 520 240g in her ultrabook; none have had any problems so far.

I have an SSD on my workstation at work now, which is what made me finally take the plunge. I'd never seen Photoshop (or any adobe product) load so fast.

I got a 480GB one so I don't have to worry too much about space usage. I dunno how people could live with a ~100GB SSD when I have absolutely nothing installed except Windows, drivers, and updates, and I've already somehow used 50GB of space. Once I shove Office, Visual Studio, Adobe, and everything else on there, a 100GB drive is just gonna disappear in a puff of smoke.

And that's before I install any games! If I'm not going to install my Steam games on it what point is there?!

lol...

Well, I somehow don't think Terraria needs to have an SSD. Hell, I don't even have my minecraft server installed on the SSD, and it still screams.

But yah, nothing wrong with having a larger SDD. I just didn't want to fork out the extra money to go above 256 when putting the computer together, as it was already pushing 2500 bucks. But like I said, I have plenty of expansion slots, so I can remedy that later, should I desire.

I have a 256GB and I regret not going bigger. There is no way I could go any smaller. I was on a budget when I bought it, since I got a higher end 256 at the time and the 512 version was $$$.

I also have a huge PC tower with a shitload of vacant HD/SSD expansion slots. I plan to snag another 256 or a 512 sometime in the future. My current SSD has 90GB left with about 7 games installed at any given time, including FFXIV. The majority of my steam library is uninstalled.
