Yah. July must have been pretty early in the Sky farming. I don't think I was even 75 by this point. I was low 70's. I believe I hit 75 in early august, or so, and I think I was still like one of the first 10 NA WHMs. haha. It's so crazy to think about now.

I should have updated this more frequently. I have 4,899 screen shots from 2003 to 2005 in ffxi. Its possible I had an addition to taking screen shots haha. Sometimes I would just take like 5 in a row and have a little animation for no reason. I should make a video with every screen shot appearing for like one second. It would probably be pretty boring.

I want to highlight one of my favorite nights in FFXI. July 4th, 2004. God bless America.

I don't remember when or who, but someone got a bunch of CKD members into a Japanese Dynamis group. I forget the LS name, but the leader was Aphex and he was really nice. I think they were short players and they were looking for any help they could get. I don't think we even paid. I think Kayne is the only other person still active who was there. Vurin might have been there. Anyway, we tagged along with them them for a while and got a bunch of AF2. I had horrible luck. I dont think I won any city AF2 with them. It was doing these runs that we learnt the basics of Dynamis. No one actually explained it to us, we just had basic instructions of where to stand and what to attack. We did runs with this group for a while, I don't remember how long, but I think it was a month or more.

Then on July 4th Aphex decided to do Dynamis Beaucedine. This was our first attempt, but Aphex did his homework and they did a lot of talking before we went in. Of course all of it was in Japanese. The NA players just went by macro commands and basic instructions lol. I did this run with Kayne and Dionil. You can see the basic instructions we got from Aphex in the screen shot below. I was always in the leftover group lol. I was like a backup and my main job was making sure I had reraise up at all times haha.






I had done a lot of raids with them already and I don't think I won anything until tonight. Then WHM AF2 Vest dropped. It happened within the first 5 minutes of the run. I was level 73 or something so I couldn't even equip it. They didn't say I couldn't roll on it so I rolled as fast as I could and almost shit my pants when I saw what I got. I was really paranoid they were going to be pissed, but I don't think they were. They did seem a little more chatty at times during the raid, but this was our first run so I think they were confused.








Aphex seemed a little annoyed with me all night, but I think that was my paranoia. I really liked them. They were super nice Japanese players and I have a lot of respect for them. I think a week or so after this raid I explained to Aphex that I wanted to start the first NA Dynamis group . He was totally cool about it and wished me luck. This is why I was so open about who could join Cheeseburgers. I didn't want anyone to be excluded.

Anyway, that was an awesome night. It took me a few days to get around to level up to 75.

So I went through a few hundred screen shots while waiting for fates to spawn. I found the very first screen shot I have of Ketrebu.

I don't know if I actually knew ket at this point, but I think this might be after he watched us to some of the sky fights. I forget who recommended Ket. I always thought it was Peejo.



Then I crossed paths again with Sir Ketrebu at the very first Cheeseburger run.

This was always a favorite screen shot of mine. Everyone is standing in a perfect line.



Look a random screen shot caught Ket's face! This is pretty much it for now. Im always surprised how far off my mental timeline is.

Ket, Cyntari, Croucount (I think that's how you spelled his name), myself and a few other decent players were part of a linkshell with Capzero. That dude was crazy, and CKD was really picking up at the time, so I suggested those three (Hopefully I didn't leave someone out) apply for CKD.

I thought they'd be a good match for CKD, and it fulfilled my selfish desire of not needing to participate in two linkshells anymore, so it was a win-win for everyone (Except Capzero :P)

I still remember you from FFXI Kio...If that helps I just don't have any cool pictures.

I'm really digging all the old FFXI pics. I tried picking up FFXI and playing again a year or so agin, but was depressed when I saw my rather-large friendslist filled with nothing but greyed out names. I used to have such a fun time browsing through that list, stalking people's locations, and sending random tells to people. It will never be the same without all the people from back in our day.

Which is a post of roughly ten years of age. Also I imagine Yarr will be in here eventually to post our cheeseburger San D'oria Dynamis win which I believe was 10 years ago today also.

I copied moved my 2004 screens shots to my ssd. I flipped through at like 3-5 fps and it works really well as a movie. the thing about my screen shots is that I took like 10 in a row at times. just like rapid fire. That was the trick to getting really good screen shots. So now im left with what looks like a ton of 2 second blips lol. I remember at the time thinking I would make animated gifs. I never once even attempted, but I never stopped taking a bunch of shots in a row.

all I need is software. someone recommend me something.

I forgot to post this yesterday. Im not sure why I took this screen shot, but it reminds me of how social I was in FFXI. No one understands how many people use to just shoot the shit with me in /tells. I had conversations with so many people about their linkshell or about a rumor that this person was leaking information from CKD to another Linkshell and so on.

Mostly though, this screen shot makes me miss Panther. Im genuinely concerned about Panther these days. The last time I spoke to Panther was probably around the time I took a break from 1.0 and got really into Dungeon Defenders. I think that was 2 years ago. I was playing DD for hours every day and Panther tagged along for most of that time. Then one day Panther told me he lost his job and that he would be disappearing for a while. He said he would message me when he got a new job and could afford internet again.
