Anyways, that sucks about your father. Do you live with your parents? Because if you do, maybe things will get better when you move out. Sometimes just being around your family all the time just makes you insane.

But since you're not, there's a few guys here at work that'd be more than happy I'm sure. (Nasty, yes, but probably 50% of the guys here are.. well.. anyway, I need a new job, and that just adds to things)...

That really sucks though. Maybe one day it'll get better, or maybe you'll just move out and be done with it all.... That's one of the wonderful things about growing up and moving out--all the small things go away, and bigger ones replace them. But the parents get a little better anyway.....

I'M BACK TO RANT AGAIN. Some of you will see this on other boards, but i'm posting it here.... for good measure

I am TIRED of helping people that have no idea what they are doing. If your going to ask for someone to help you, then that's what they are there to do... help. Now, there is of course the general questions. "What kind of NM are we fighting?" or "What spells should i use?" stuff like that. That's not what i'm talking about... i'm talking about the stuff below.

I was helping some random people with Bastok Dragon the other night while i was leveling my BST. I had no problem helping, so i instantly said yes, and headed out towards that way.

I get there, and no one has an idea where to go. (One guy didn't even know they weren't doing part one of mission 6, the part with the sand, even after i explained they were doing dragon..) We must of stayed there for at least 15-20 minutes, maybe even more. Even after they *kind of* found out where to go. They got lost... easy. Granted, i didn't know where to go either...

..however, someone else was at the circle, so i don't know why they couldn't of just come back and found us.

Now, that wasn't so bad as tonight.

I ask the link pearl i "Joined" (The guy just kindof gave me it..) when they are going to do the Bastok dragon. They said they were going to do it now, and i offered my help. They said yes. They tell me to go to bastok to meet them... and so it began.

One person decided to go AFK then to take a shower and get some food, said it would be about 10 minutes. Now, i have no problem with that. So i change my job in bastok, and wait for them. Now, the person has come back... i wait a while for them to get there, before i look on the link list where they are...

...they are in La Theine... what the hell? The person is back, you should be here by now, or by on the way.

I should also mention several times while waiting for the person to come back from her shower, they asked me several times to look for a BLM to cast sleep.

Why the hell couldn't they do this while that person is AFK? It's not my job to find the help. I'm there to help, not to tell you what to do. It's like inviting someone, "Hey, i need to do (Insert quest/mission here)" You say ok. Then they ask, "Ok.. so... what do i do now?"

Anyways, about 10 minutes or so later (30-40 minutes) They start their way here. Now, at this time i'm being very paitent. I could of said screw it by now and left. But i gave them a bit more time.

50-60 minutes - They arrive in Bastok. They go to accept the mission.. This shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

10+ minutes go by. Now, i'm just getting annoyed. This should of been done by now, or we should of been at the burning circle.

I ask them, the question that sent me over the edge.

"Do you guys know how to get there?"

"No"
"No"
"I don't know"

Now, i'm just cursing to myself. I was being told they were doing it "Now" not "In an hour or so" NOT TO MENTION, they have no idea where they are going? WHY DIDN'T YOU LOOK UP A MAP OR SOMETHING?! YOU HAD 20 MINUTES, ONE GUY LOOKS FOR A BLM or RDM, ANOTHER LOOKS HOW TO GET THERE. Is it really that hard?

Now.. it sent me over the edge, i didn't leave... but i did leave when someone in the party said this...

"I have an allaince waiting, they want to dragon too"

......

I just stared... blankly.... at the screen.. they didn't even know it was limited to 6 people. So, i naturally didn't care how i let them down.

"...screw it guys, but sorry, i've been paitent."

I leave, i drop the pearl and just curse to my own LS and rant for a good 15 minutes about that experience.

I should mention, i know how long it took, becuase i watched the end of south park, watched the daily show, and tough crowd.

Like i said, i don't mind being paitent for a bit. As long as you guys know what your doing, i'm all for helping people (as long as it doesn't fall under the catagory "I could die due to the lack of people/level")

So i ask all players, not just new people, 2 things.

1. Have your stuff together and know what your doing. If you invite me asking for help, say, Dragoon dragon, and then ask, "So, how do i fight it?" and then say, "Get the egg? I haven't done it yet." I'm leaving.

2. Don't keep me waiting too long. If your saying your doing something at a certain time, things should me moving along, or an atempt to be moving on, like in the example above.

I should also mention, if someone in the PT goes afk before you do the mission/quest/whatever, and no one in the party knows what to do, it helps if you quickly go and look that up, it will save people some time.

I completely agree. I was quite frustrated with my LS at one time. We decided to do Rank 4 one weekend and Rank 5 the following.

Some of the people hadn't even finished Rank 3 yet, so we had to help them do that. THEN we finally got to do Rank 4....
Except that when we got to the top of Delkfutts Tower, one of the guys says "Uhhh... Was I supposed to talk to the consulate in Jeuno?" ........ Needless to say, he got the Delkfutt Key and came back to finish the mission on his own good time.

The next week (mind you, they had an entire WEEK to prepare, getting the Davoi Key Item, and talking to the other NPC's they needed to speak with to get things rolling) ... we had to wait an hour or so over the time we had originally planned to start because some of them weren't ready! It was bad enough that it's a long mission, especially the part with Castle Oztroja, but still.... I think it was about 6:30am EST when we finally finished. The sun was just starting to come up when we finished the mission.

Once everyone got started, Rank5 was a breeze, just a few problems with getting through Oztroja (though we killed most everything in our way.. hehe)


But I definitely feel your pain on this one. That's why I politely reply with an "I don't understand" when people ask me to help them out with a mission. Unless it's something easy, like the first part of Rank 3: go kill such and such an "NM" (Warchief Vatgit comes to mind .. /fume)...

Look... i'm tired of people telling me they are going to do something for me, like they offer it, i don't ask for it, and then BAILING OUT.

ARE YOU FUCKING PEOPLE LISTENING!? If your say your going to do something and offer help, DO IT. But if you just bail out of YOUR OWN OFFER, THEN YOUR A FUCKING DOUCHE.

Especially when i help someone get their AF (Not the person who is helping me) just cuase i feel like it, then I die, go play something else for like 15-25 minutes, then come back.

AND YOUR GOOFING AROUND? I give subtle hints, becuase i don't want to sound like a nag. But thenn leave, saying, "brb real quick someone is forcing me to open up my chest" wha... what? YOUR CHEST IS IN BEAUDUX?! YOU HAVE FULL AF ARMOR, WHAT THE HELL?!

That's just fucking rude to offer help, and then just bail out on it, and not respond to tells, then say, "Real quick"

Here, LET ME TELL YOU WHAT REAL QUICK SHOULD MEAN.

"Brb real quick, i'm going to the bathroom"

or

"brb real quick, i need to walk/feed my pet"

Not

"Hey i'm going to be gone a good 20-25 minutes after just sitting around in jueno, while you give me subtle hints that i should keep my word, waiting probably 10-15 minutes before that, BUT IT'LL BE REAL QUICK."

I so badly just want to call some people the C word and then blist them.

Edit: Jumped the gun, but i'm still leaving this up, it's happend to me before... not same experience, but still people offer help and then back out.

Like fabian, who, when he was a DRG and made his own LS, said, "Yeah, we get together and help each other with AF" i accept the pearl, KNOWING FULL WELL he was on my blist.

As soon as i ask for help? Everyone, including him, goes, "AF2? I'm not touching that with a 10 foot pole"

Fucking hypocrits.. oh, but "PLD AF! Guys help?" Oh yeah sure FINE...
